Jahmyr Gibbs best prop bets for Lions vs. Chiefs on Sunday Night Football Week 6

It has been a busy Sunday of Week 6, building up to one of the better primetime matchups on the schedule thus far. The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football, with both teams looking to be among the biggest Super Bowl threats once again this season. Jahmyr Gibbs and company will be looking for another statement victory while the star running back continues to look like one of the most talented players in the league.

Detroit has overcome the early concerns with their loss of coordinators and enters with a 4-1 record. Kansas City has dropped to 2-3, but has earned the benefit of the doubt. Their three losses came at the hands of the Chargers, Eagles, and Jaguars, while they have produced wins over the Giants and Ravens.

Looking at the odds on DraftKings Sportsbook, the Chiefs enter as 2.5-point favorites and hold -142 odds on the moneyline. The Lions hold +120 odds of getting the outright victory, with the game total set at O/U 52.5 points.

There are plenty of ways to get involved in the action outside of backing a side or total. This article will look at my top Jahmyr Gibbs prop bets ahead of tonight’s Week 6 Sunday Night Football matchup.

Best Jahmyr Gibbs Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Jahmyr Gibbs Anytime Touchdown (-145)

Across his 37 career games, Jahmyr Gibbs has tallied 30 rushing touchdowns and six scores through the air. This includes five touchdowns so far this season. Gibbs is tied for fourth in individual touchdowns this season and led the entire NFL with 20 total touchdowns last year. This does not even include the five touchdowns he has tallied in four postseason games.

Looking at this matchup, Kansas City has had a mixed bag of defensive results on the season. Overall, they rank 13th in the league in points and yards allowed. The Chiefs limited the Giants to just nine points in Week 3, but they have given up 20+ points in every other game.

Detroit’s offense leads the league in scoring with 34.8 points per game. They put up 52 points against the Bears and 34+ points in four straight games. Count on Gibbs to be the top option every time they reach the red zone and for these opportunities to be fairly frequent. He has scored a touchdown in 25 of his 37 career games overall, and the -145 odds are a better value than will be the case most weeks. The Alabama product has reached the end zone in four of the five games this year, and look for him to add to this. Count on Gibbs to be involved in both the rushing and receiving production and break free for a score at least once in the matchup.

Jahmyr Gibbs to Record 80+ Rushing Yards (+153)

One area where Gibbs has not reached his peak of impact on the season is with his rushing yardage production. Through the first five games, he has rushed for 325 yards, or 65.0 per game. He has posted rushing totals of 19, 94, 67, 91, and 54 through the opening five games. His 65.0 rushing yards per game rank 14th in the league.

This is the same Jahmyr Gibbs who averaged 83.1 rushing yards per game last year and is capable of turning any given carry into a massive gain. He will look to improve these rushing metrics against a Chiefs team that ranks 21st in rushing yards allowed, 24th in rushing touchdowns conceded, and 26th in net yards per rush attempt. They have given up at least 100 collective yards on the ground in every matchup this year except for the season-opener against the Chargers, who rushed for 90 total yards.

The standard rushing prop for Gibbs is set at 66.5 rushing yards. While I support this as well, there is some additional value on the slate. He has rushed for 90+ yards twice already this season and tallied 80+ rushing yards in nine games last year. Gibbs is posting a career-high 61% offensive snap percentage and is seeing an average of 14.0 rush attempts per game. Expect his big play ability to pose a challenge to the vulnerable Chiefs team and take advantage of the +153 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook for Gibbs to rush for 80+ yards for the third time this season.
