The NASCAR Cup Series South Point 400 at Las Vegas is on Sunday and DraftKings is offering a new way to play fantasy NASCAR. The game is simple. Build a “Pick Set” (2+ drivers) and decide if they will outperform their stat projections. Here is some advice to help build your DraftKings Pick6 Pick Sets for the NASCAR Cup Series South Point 400 at Las Vegas.
Kyle Larson: Finishing Position – 5.5
Pick6 Play: Better
It’s go time. Larson needs to kick it into gear. The eight drivers still standing aren’t standing still. They’re fast. Larson had a cushion and cruised to the Round of 8. Top-10 finishes won’t cut it if Larson wants to make the cut. He needs wins and podiums. There are three races before the championship race. For Larson, there’s really only two — Las Vegas and Martinsville. Sandwiched in between is Talladega. Larson often gets sandwiched at superspeedways. He needs maximum points and possibly a win at Las Vegas and Martinsville.
The good news is that Las Vegas is a great track for Larson, and Martinsville is great for Hendrick Motorsports. Larson doesn’t want his championship hopes to come down to a do-or-die race at Martinsville. He wants to punch his ticket and begin focusing on the championship race in Phoenix. It’s very likely that the No. 5 Hendrick Chevy team circled this race on the calendar. Larson was fast in practice and qualified near the front. He has the car and the skill.
Joey Logano: Finishing Position – 8.5
Pick6 Play: Better
The JGR Toyotas and Hendrick Chevys were the fastest in practice and qualifying. That was Saturday. Payday is Sunday. Practice isn’t a race. Hot lapping in practice looks good on a spreadsheet, but it’s not a leading indicator. The Gen-7 stock car is as stock as it gets. There is parity throughout the field. Strategy and pit stops are often more important than speed, handling or tire wear.
If all cars are equal, then what separates drivers? It’s hard to say, but it’s not hard to know who separates. Joey Logano has won two of three Cup Series Championships in the Gen-7 era. He hasn’t piled up the wins over the last three seasons, but he does have a mantle filled with the most prestigious trophies. Never pick against Logano.

Enter an Amount
Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.
Sweat Your Picks
When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Compete for Prizes
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
