Neither the Giants nor the Saints expected to be too impressive this season. With one win combined through four weeks, their goals of tanking seem to be well underway, though the Giants certainly hoped for better. Sunday’s game is an opportunity to measure their respective rebuilds against one another, and it creates some interesting player props.
The Saints are 1.5-point favorites and -120 on the moneyline, while the Giants are +100 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at 42.5 points. Here are my favorite player props for this Week 5 NFL game between the Saints and Giants.
Saints vs. Giants Best Prop Bets
Alvin Kamara 70+ Rushing Yards (+140)
The New York Giants have invested heavily in their defensive line. Kayvon Thibodeaux and Abdul Carter were both high draft picks while they ponied up for Brian Burns in a trade. That’s great if you want to rush the passer, but their run defense has suffered. Things have not been the same since Leonard Williams departed.
New York is allowing over 150 rushing yards per game (29th in the NFL) at 6.1 yards per carry (31st in the NFL). That makes Alvin Kamara’s rush line a smash spot.
Jaxson Dart 180+ Passing Yards (-105)
Jaxson Dart’s debut game was a massive success. The Giants secured their first win of the season, taking down an undefeated Chargers team, and Dart was instrumental on the ground. But he didn’t do much through the air, passing for only 111 yards. That’s going to change on Sunday.
New Orleans is 24th in net yards per passing attempt on the season. Outside of Carl Granderson, they haven’t had much of a pass rush. Cam Skattebo and the run game will get their work, but Dart will find success against this subpar Saints secondary.
Juwan Johnson Under 38.5 Receiving Yards (-109)
There’s reason to believe Spencer Rattler can have some success on Sunday. But I’m not convinced Juwan Johnson will be a part of that.
Johnson has spent all week managing an ankle injury. I’d guess that he plays but in a limited capacity. On top of that, the Giants have done a good job at containing tight ends this year. Rattler will have to look further outside to keep the ball moving.
