UPDATE 12:10 PM ET: In a fairly definitive signal that he won’t return to the game, reporters on the ground in Dublin are reporting that Calvin Austin III (shoulder) was just loaded into an ambulance wearing a sling on his injured shoulder.
The Vikings have just scored and made it a two possession game. But the Steelers will presumably be without Aaron Rodgers’ second-favorite target this season as they attempt to grind this clock out.
UPDATE 11:58 AM ET: According to the Steelers, Calvin Austin III, who remains in the locker room, is questionable to return to the game with a shoulder injury.
Given the Steelers’ commanding lead and absolutely stifling defensive plan today, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the Steelers risk bringing Austin back in to the game, especially given the international nature of it. Context matters here, and it’s entirely possible we won’t see Austin catch another pass today.
As the third quarter wound down in Dublin in the game between the Vikings and the Steelers, Calvin Austin III caught a pass to the flat from Aaron Rodgers, made a football move toward the sticks, and took a hit to the shoulder that’s sent him to the locker room.
He went to the medical tent briefly, but immediately exited with trainers and started walking slowly to the locker room.
As of right now, there’s no injury designation. The Steelers offense has been clicking today, and Rodgers has looked to Austin III several times. He’s carved out a legitimate role on this offense.
