Carlos Ulberg takes on Dominick Reyes in the Main Event of tomorrow’s UFC Fight Night in Perth, Western Australia. After a four-fight losing streak, Reyes has bounced back with three straight knockouts in the last two years. Ulberg is the latest contender from City Kickboxing in New Zealand to rise in the UFC rankings. The winner of this fight could earn a future title opportunity.

Carlos Ulberg More Than 57.5 Significant Strikes
Carlos Ulberg has won eight straight fights in the UFC, and given his outstanding striking abilities, it is surprising to see his total of significant strikes this low at 57.5. This is Ulberg’s first UFC Main Event, and with two extra rounds, it should allow Ulberg to put out a higher output.
Reyes’ last three victories have come in the first two rounds. But if Ulberg can weather the early storm and not allow Reyes to land big power punches, he should be in store for an elite striking performance. Ulberg has recorded 57.5 significant strikes in back-to-back fights and three of his last four.
Dominick Reyes More Than 43.5 Fantasy Points
Even though Reyes is going up against an emerging contender in Ulberg, he is still one of the most talented strikers in this division. During Reyes’ win streak, he has totaled 103-plus fantasy points in three straight bouts.
Reyes is the underdog in this fight, but it is a lot closer of a contest on paper. Both fighters have an identical height (6’4″) and standing reach (77″). Ulberg lands slightly more significant strikes per minute (6.77 vs. 5.58) at a higher rate (55% vs. 54%). Since it is super close, getting Reyes to record 44 fantasy points is a good move with the upside he possesses.
Neil Magny More Than 26.5 Significant Strikes
12-year UFC veteran, Neil Magny, is back for his 36th fight in the UFC Octagon. Although he’s 38 years old, Magny is coming off a win by KO/TKO. Magny’s total of significant strikes is set at 26.5, which seems low considering how he has looked recently.
Magny scored 42 fantasy points in his last bout and has recorded more than 26.5 points in three of his previous five contests. On paper, Magny has a massive seven-inch reach advantage (80″ vs. 73″) while standing four inches taller (6’3″ vs. 5’11”) than his opponent, Jake Matthews. Magny averages more significant strikes while being more efficient than Matthews. If we see the same aggressive version of Magny that was on display in his last outing, surpassing 26.5 significant strikes should be doable.
Navajo Stirling More Than 52.5 Significant Strikes
The second member of City Kickboxing on the Prelims is Navajo Stirling, who is taking on Rodolfo Bellato in the featured bout of the Prelims. Stirling has the benefit of being on the same card as another teammate, Carlos Ulberg, since they are both in the same weight division.
Stirling is 2-0 in the UFC and has totaled 78 and 110 significant strikes in his two bouts. With Stirling being taller with a four-inch reach advantage, this is a favorable matchup for him. Stirling averages over six significant strikes per minute while absorbing under three from opponents. As Stirling’s career progresses, he should continue to grow and deliver better performances.
Charlie Campbell More Than 56.5 Fantasy Points
Tom Nolan is opening the Main Card against Charlie Campbell in a three-round Lightweight contest. Nolan and Campbell have both won three straight fights. Nolan is a highly skilled striker, but Campbell is better all-around with his versatile skill set.
Campbell lands nearly three takedowns per 15 minutes while being the more efficient striker on the feet. In Campbell’s first two bouts in the UFC, he put up 117.3 and 96 fantasy points. With the help of legendary coach Ray Longo, Campbell looks like a potential contender. Even though he’s facing another fighter on the rise in Nolan, there should be a ton of opportunities in this fight for Campbell to shine.
Jake Matthews Less Than 1.5 Takedowns
Jake Matthews averages 1.51 takedowns per 15 minutes but hasn’t recorded more than one takedown in a fight in his last five contests. Now he is facing Magny, who is skilled on the ground and has a 55 percent takedown defense.
With Matthews only landing 42 percent of his takedown attempts, that shouldn’t translate to a ton of success on the ground for him. In Magny’s last 10 fights, only three opponents have scored more than 1.5 takedowns against him. Also, Magny hasn’t allowed an opponent to record more than one takedown in his last three fights. With that being said, Matthews’ ability to land two takedowns doesn’t seem likely in this bout.
