Last season, Jahmyr Gibbs broke out from a promising running back prospect into a bona fide superstar. He took 250 carries for 1,412 yards and a league-leading 16 touchdowns for a Detroit Lions team that finished 15-2 and added 52 catches, 517 yards, and four more scores through the air.
Though offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who helped shepherd Gibbs to his career-best season, is now the head coach of the Chicago Bears, Gibbs has still put up a solid start to Year 3. He’ll hope to continue his strong form tonight when the Lions travel to face the Baltimore Ravens, one of the AFC’s most dangerous all-around units.
The Lions are 4.5-point underdogs at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the point total set to 53.5. Below, I’ve detailed my favorite prop bets centered around Gibbs.
Best Jahmyr Gibbs Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Jahmyr Gibbs O27.5 Receiving Yards (-109)
Despite what it showed in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, when it collapsed in the fourth quarter en route to a 41-40 defeat, this Baltimore defense is really good, ranking eighth in rush defense and fifth in overall defense by Pro Football Focus’ grading system. The Ravens have been tested on the ground by running backs less frequently than all but nine teams and rank near the middle of the pack in both yards per attempt and yards per game. Still, they have shown themselves to be somewhat more vulnerable through the air to running backs, as James Cook racked up five catches for 58 yards in Week 1 and the Cleveland Browns trio of Jerome Ford, Dylan Sampson, and Quinshon Judkins combined for 11 catches and 46 yards.
Gibbs has also seen much more usage in the passing game this season. Through the first two weeks, he’s averaging a career-high 6.5 catches per game after catching 10 passes for 31 yards against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1. Though Gibbs operated in somewhat of a time-share role with David Montgomery last season, he has taken the clear leading role, as his snap share has risen from 56% last season to 61% so far in 2025, and he’s been targeted 13 times to Montgomery’s five. Plus, the Ravens have done a good job getting pressure on the quarterback and have posted the league’s fourth-best coverage grade, which should incentivize Jared Goff to check it down more often.
Jahmyr Gibbs Anytime TD Scorer (-125)
These are pretty friendly odds for one team’s most important offensive weapon in a game that should be high-scoring. Though Gibbs has only found the end zone once this season, punching it home from six yards out in the Week 2 win over the Bears, a two-game sample size isn’t cause for concern. He’s taken seven of the Lions’ 14 red-zone carries and one of its 11 targets, numbers in line with his shares last season, when he scored in 14 of his 18 games. Amon-Ra St. Brown (+120) has been the go-to target inside the red zone and Montgomery (+120) the go-to rusher inside the 10, but that was the case last season, too. It’s easy to imagine all three of them scoring.
This season, Baltimore has already allowed three touchdowns on the ground, all in the defeat to Buffalo, and unlike Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who found paydirt twice in the fourth quarter alone, Goff won’t take any rushing scores away from Gibbs. The Ravens are also just one of 13 teams to have allowed a receiving touchdown to a running back, Dillon Gabriel’s fade to Sampson in the dying moments of Week 2. To be fair, several of Baltimore’s best players, including All-Pro honorees Kyle Hamilton and Marlon Humphrey, had already left the game by that point, but the ease with which Sampson got open indicates some scheme vulnerability.
