Ashton Jeanty had an unreal college career at Boise State, but he hasn’t had the ideal start to his NFL career. Can we start to turn things around on Sunday in Week 3?

Ashton Jeanty was selected by the Raiders with the sixth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and came with big expectations. He narrowly missed out on the Heisman trophy last season to Travis Hunter after rushing for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns with Boise State while leading them to the College Football Playoff.
Jeanty’s first two games in the NFL have been underwhelming, and I’m backing that trend to continue in Week 3. Through two weeks, he has carried the ball 30 times, rushing for only 81 yards while averaging 2.7 yards per carry. He ranks 54th in the NFL in yards per carry through two weeks. Jeanty hasn’t been given a ton of volume, but rightly so as he hasn’t done much with the carries he has gotten. It’s not entirely his fault, as the Raiders’ offensive line hasn’t exactly done him any favors.
Jeanty and the Raiders will have their work cut out for them again on Sunday as the Commanders rank 14th in the league in rushing defense this season, only allowing an average of 104.5 yards per game. The rookie will either have to massively improve this week or be given an unusually large amount of carries to hit the over on this number.
Neither Jeanty nor the Raiders’ offensive line has looked good this season and I’m betting on that to continue on Sunday. Las Vegas will have a much better chance of moving the ball through the air in this one.
