The Green Bay Packers got some concerning injury news earlier this week regarding tight end Tucker Kraft. A breakout star of the first two weeks, Kraft tweaked his knee at practice on Thursday. He was considered a limited participant on Thursday and missed all of Friday’s practice as further evaluations occurred. While the Packers officially listed Kraft as questionable on the final injury report, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that he is expected to suit up for this week’s matchup against the Browns.
A looming breakout?
Through the opening two games, Kraft leads the Packers pass catchers with eight receptions for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He has become a staple of Matt LaFleur’s offense in his third season in the league. Among tight ends this season, he ranks fourth in receiving yards, third in yards per catch (17.5), and is tied for first in touchdown receptions. Kraft is the only tight end to average over 3.0 yards per route through the opening two weeks.
From the fantasy football perspective, Kraft ranks second in tight end production with 37.3 total fantasy points through the opening two weeks. He trails only Dalton Kincaid in total points, although Kraft leads the position with 18.6 fantasy points per game based on DraftKings scoring.
Green Bay’s dominance has been one of the biggest storylines in the early stages of this NFL season, as they appear to be a legitimate Super Bowl threat. They are off to a 2-0 start to the season and have climbed to the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +650. The Packers are the favorites to win the NFC at +310 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook.
They will travel to Cleveland this week for a matchup with the Browns in search of a third straight win. Green Bay will enter as 8.5-point favorites and holds -500 odds on the Moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Browns hold +380 odds of pulling off the upset, with the game total set at 41.5.
Kraft’s receiving prop over/under is set at 44.5 yards for the matchup.
Keep an eye on any last-minute injury updates regarding whether Kraft will be limited in any way. But for the time being, it looks like the standout tight end avoided major injury and will be a full-go for the Packers in the Week 3 matchup.
