The Kansas City Chiefs’ dynasty over the NFL has been so thorough that the last time they were in this position — 0-2 after the first two weeks — was in 2012, when they went on to finish 2-14 after starting quarterback Matt Cassel suffered a concussion in Week 11. Barring something apocalyptic, the Chiefs won’t go 2-15 this season, but they will require a road win over the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football if they want to avoid falling to 0-3 for the first time since 2011.
The game will start at 8:20 p.m. ET. Both teams will surely be hoping to set the tone early by scoring the first touchdown of the game, though so far, Kansas City hasn’t found the end zone first yet and New York has only once.
Let’s break down the first TD scorer odds for tonight’s marquee matchup at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Chiefs at Giants First Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets

Patrick Mahomes First Touchdown Scorer (+1200)
I have a lot of questions with basically everyone on the Chiefs’ roster except for Mahomes himself. Xavier Worthy (+700) has the shortest odds, but there’s no guarantee that he’ll even play as he recovers from the dislocated shoulder that he suffered on Kansas City’s third play from scrimmage this season. Travis Kelce (+800) has looked like a shell of himself, dropping a would-be touchdown that turned into an interception for Andrew Mukuba. Neither Isiah Pacheco (+800) or Kareem Hunt (+850) is very good, and Marquise Brown (+950) hasn’t scored a touchdown since October 29, 2023.
That leaves Mahomes, who’s taken matters more into his own hands as a runner this season, averaging a career-high 6.5 rushing attempts per game and leading the league with 9.5 yards per carry. He’s found the end zone once in each game, both times scoring the Chiefs’ first touchdown of the game. Kansas City has run 12 plays inside the red zone this season; three were passes to Brown, two to Kelce, one to Jason Brownlee (+5500), two were Hunt runs, one was a Pacheco run, and the other three were Mahomes runs. Only Mahomes’ plays have resulted in a score. Plus, the Giants have allowed the second-most rushing yards to quarterbacks this season.
Wan’Dale Robinson First Touchdown Scorer (+1600)
Though Malik Nabers (+900) notched the game’s first score in New York’s Week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, both he and Robinson scored eventually, and both should continue to be critical parts of the offense. Even though Robinson is one of the smallest receivers in the league at five-foot-eight, his sure hands and speed make him a reliable end zone threat; last season, he had the second-highest red zone target share of any receiver in the league, and he split targets mostly evenly with Nabers even within the 10. As a premier deep threat playing with an aggressive play-caller in Mike Kafka, a gunslinger at quarterback in Russell Wilson (+3000), and a pair of fairly unproven running backs in Tyrone Tracy (+1100) and Cam Skattebo (+1000), his ceiling is high.
Plus, through the first two weeks of the season, the Chiefs have recorded just the 14th-highest coverage grade by Pro Football Focus’ standards, so Wilson should continue to have the opportunity to do well. Trent McDuffie, who was an All-Pro corner in each of the last two seasons, has put up merely the league’s 34th-best coverage grade this season and allowed a 113.3 passer rating and one score on his 10 targets, and Jaylen Watson has given up more yards after the catch than before. Plus, on the 70-plus percent of plays he lines up in the slot, Robinson will spend more time going up against Chamarri Conner, who’s posted just a 54.8 coverage grade and hasn’t forced an incompletion since Week 14 last season.
