The Panthers nearly came back and defeated the Cardinals in Week 2 and Hunter Renfrow ($3,700) flourished in this contest. The veteran caught seven of his nine targets for 48 yards and two touchdowns, resulting in 23.8 FPTS, which is a huge improvement from the 3.3 FPTS he scored in the season opener vs. the Jaguars.
With Adam Thielen ($4,300) now with the Vikings and out of the picture, Renfrow is operating as Carolina’s primary slot receiver so far in 2025. The veteran is handling a 17.2% target share while running a route on 87% of his team’s dropbacks and 80% of his routes have come from the slot. Notably, Renfrow is leading the Panthers with five red-zone targets.
Renfrow is a viable pick up for deeper season-long leagues, especially leagues with full PPR scoring, but he is not worth starting this Sunday vs. the Falcons. Atlanta has been impressive at defending the pass this season, giving up the fifth-fewest yards per pass in the NFL (5.3). To make matters worse, the Falcons are giving up the lowest completion percentage (43.8%) and the fourth-fewest receiving yards to players who line up in the slot (76). In this ugly spot, Renfrow will likely come back down to earth and have a single-digit FPTS performance.
