The co-main event of the sixth week of Dana White’s Contender Series features a Light Heavyweight contest between two undefeated prospects, Mahamed Aly and Iwo Baraniewski. Aly, 31, is 4-0 with three knockouts, as Baraniewski, 26, is 5-0 with five first-round finishes.

Here is my best bet for Mahamed Aly vs. Iwo Baraniewski on tonight’s episode of Dana White’s Contender Series.

Mahamed Aly to Win by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission (-175)

Aly entered MMA in January 2024 and has since recorded four victories in the first 20 months of his career. He has a decorated background as a Jiu-Jitsu black belt and has won multiple IBJJF World Championships. Aly defeated Mikey Musumeci, who is one of the best in the world, at the 2020 European Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship. Musumeci is the current UFC BJJ Bantamweight Champion.

Even though Aly has those accolades in Jiu-Jitsu, his three finishes in MMA have come via KO/TKO. In this matchup, Aly is a -270 favorite while Baraniewski is a +220 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Aly is three inches taller (6’3″ vs. 6’0″) than Baraniewski in this fight. Although Aly is five years older, it could play to his benefit because he has had 114 Jiu-Jitsu matches before he began his MMA career. Since both fighters are a combined 9-0 with eight finishes, this fight most likely will not go the distance. If Aly dictates the pace of the fight since he is the taller fighter, he will have a great chance to score takedowns, leading to a finish.
