Best Bucky Irving prop bet for Texans vs. Buccaneers NFL Week 2 on Monday 9/15/25

Monday night drops Tampa Bay into Houston under the roof with a tight 42.5 total and an AFC–NFC clash likely decided by precision and red-zone sequencing. Tampa has opened the year skewing pass-heavy (~65% pass rate), while Houston sits near 60%, putting both passing games at the center of the script. The hinge is pressure—keep Baker Mayfield and C.J. Stroud clean and the explosive-pass rate climbs; move them off spots and drives shrink into field goals. Indoors, with each side comfortable around 60–66 snaps, expect sustained possessions, condensed windows, and a handful of high-leverage targets to tilt the night. Having said that, I think there’s plenty of prop value in the running game for at least the Buccaneers.

To wit—below, check out one of my favorite Bucky Irving props to consider from this late-night tilt.

Bucky Irving to score a touchdown (-105)

What a night to buy into Bucky’s role at the stripe! He handled 18 touches in Week 1 (14 rushes, four receptions) and logged the scoring look on a designed screen, which tells you Tampa trusts him for money touches, not just early downs. That usage sits right around 31% of the Buccaneers’ typical play volume (team average 58.0 snaps), and it stacks on top of his recent finishing trend—8 touchdowns in his last 13 games (61.5% hit rate) after an 8-TD, 1,122-yard rookie year with 5.4 YPC. Tampa sustains drives and converts them: last season they finished 66% of red-zone trips with touchdowns, and they remain a pass-lean team (65.5% pass rate), which actually helps Irving because Tampa’s preferred goal-to-go answers include angle screens and quick outlets to him when boxes lighten. Houston sits mid-table overall (15th), but this setting should still create chances: the total is 42.5, and combined pace projects well with Tampa at 58.0 snaps and Houston around 66.0—more plays equals more red-zone cracks.

There’s also a structural fit with how Baker Mayfield operates under heat. His passer rating under pressure is 114.6, and he’s comfortable taking the high-percentage answer when blitzes arrive. That’s Irving—his 12.5% target share last week came almost exclusively on quick designs, the same concepts that become de facto runs inside the 10. Even if Rachaad White siphons between-the-20s work, Irving owns the higher-leverage touches; he already got the first goal-line score of the season and profiles as the preferred finisher again.

Price makes it actionable. At –105 you’re paying for about a 51.2% price; Irving’s recent rate and Week 1 role put this closer to 54–56% in my book, with multiple pathways (inside handoff, screen, checkdown after pressure). Indoors, with Tampa’s red-zone efficiency and Irving’s nose for the goal line, this is a green-light play for me. Should be for you, too.
