Christian McCaffrey More Than 0.5 Rushing + Receiving TDs
Christian McCaffrey is hoping to get back among the best running backs in the NFL this season. He led the league in rushing yards during the 2023-24 season, but then missed most of last year due to injuries. McCaffrey just handled 22 carries in the 49ers’ opener against the Seahawks, indicating that he is at full health to start the season. After a calf injury popped up a couple of days before that contest, there was a possibility that McCaffrey could be on a snap count or even miss the Week 1 game. However, McCaffrey seeing that many touches shows that he is ready to carry the load for the 49ers after all.
They will need him over the next few weeks as Brock Purdy is going to miss time for San Francisco. With backup quarterback Mac Jones leading the offense, they should lean heavily on McCaffrey, which should get him into the end zone.
CeeDee Lamb More Than 78.5 Receiving Yards
CeeDee Lamb is proving every season that he is one of the NFL’s best receivers. Since the start of the 2023 campaign, nobody has more receiving yards than Lamb. That is even more impressive given the fact that Dak Prescott missed much of the 2024-25 season due to injury. Even when Cooper Rush was in at quarterback, Lamb was putting up massive numbers. That being said, Lamb looked happy to have Dak Prescott back under center in Week 1. Even against the Eagles, one of the league’s best defenses, Lamb was able to put up big numbers. Lamb had seven catches for 110 yards in that game and still looked unstoppable despite a couple of bad drops to end the contest.
He should dominate the Giants’ secondary, which looked bad in Week 1 and ranked 23rd in defensive EPA/play. Lamb had 98 receiving yards and a score in the Cowboys’ matchup against the Giants that Prescott played in last season, and he should have a similar performance in this game.
Breece Hall More Than 60.5 Rushing Yards
Breece Hall posted a great Week 1 performance against the Steelers, a much-needed big game for Hall after a disappointing 2024-25 season. The halfback totaled 19 carries for 107 yards. Last season, the Jets ranked 29th in the NFL in rushing play percentage. Aaron Rodgers wanted the ball in his own hands as much as possible, so adding in the fact that Braelon Allen was getting a share of the carries as well, Hall just didn’t get much opportunity.
Now, this revamped offense with Justin Fields at quarterback should be much more beneficial for Hall. Fields is a great athlete who loves to run the football, so the threat of Fields’ legs will create more running lanes for the backfield. After Week 1, the Jets have the highest rushing play percentage in football, running on 62.9% of their plays against the Steelers. Derrick Henry just gashed the Bills for 169 yards last week, and while Hall might not reach that number, he should clear 60.5 rushing yards.
