Both the Giants and Cowboys are looking to bounce back after Week 1 losses. Dallas put up a strong fight against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles, while New York struggled mightily, managing just six points in a sluggish performance against the Commanders.
The two NFC East rivals will face off this week at Jerry World, where the Cowboys are currently 4.5-point home favorites. The over/under for the game is set at 44.5.
Here are my three favorite prop bets for the matchup:
CeeDee Lamb Over 76.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
CeeDee Lamb had an unusual Week 1 showing against the Eagles. Statistically, it looked like a solid performance — seven catches for 110 yards — but the box score didn’t tell the whole story. Lamb had four drops on the night, including a critical one late in the game with the Cowboys down just one score. That drop could’ve set them up in the red zone.
To his credit, Lamb took full accountability after the game, and you can expect him to clean that up quickly. The Giants just gave up 77 receiving yards to Deebo Samuel, and while Terry McLaurin was held to 27 yards, he was wide open on what should’ve been a long touchdown — Jayden Daniels simply missed him.
Despite the miscues, Lamb looked electric against Philly, consistently getting open at every level of the field. He’s a top-three talent in the sport and due for a bounce-back this week. I’m taking the over here with confidence.
Dak Prescott Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-132)
Dak Prescott was let down in a big way by his pass catchers in Week 1 — most notably by CeeDee Lamb, who, as mentioned above, had four drops. Tight end Jake Ferguson also had a costly drop on what should have been a touchdown. Prescott finished with just 188 passing yards and no touchdowns, but the box score doesn’t reflect how well he actually played.
It’s hard to imagine Lamb and the rest of this receiving corps repeating that kind of performance. With the Cowboys back at home in the comfort of AT&T Stadium and facing a Giants defense that looks vulnerable, this is an ideal get-right spot for the Dallas offense. Even with the juice on the over, I like Prescott to throw for at least two touchdowns in this one.
Javonte Williams to Score a Touchdown (+115)
Javonte Williams looked solid in Week 1 against the Eagles, handling 15 of the Cowboys’ 22 rushing attempts for 54 yards and two touchdowns. He also chipped in two receptions for 10 yards. More telling, though, was the performance — or lack thereof — from the rest of the backfield: Miles Sanders lost a costly fumble in the red zone during the third quarter, and rookie Jaydon Blue was a healthy scratch.
At this point, it’s clear Williams has a firm grip on the lead role in Dallas’ backfield. He’s set up for another productive outing against a Giants defense that just gave up 220 rushing yards on 32 carries to the Commanders. New York also surrendered rushing touchdowns to both Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Deebo Samuel. With the Cowboys favored by 4.5 points at home, they should have plenty of red-zone opportunities — and Williams is the most likely to cash in.
