The Colorado Buffaloes travel to Texas to take on the Houston Cougars on Friday night. This is a look at the best player props to consider at DraftKings Sportsbook for the Big 12 battle.
Colorado vs. Houston Prop Bets
Houston is a home favorite over Colorado as the Buffaloes try to navigate the post-Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter era. Colorado lost a lot of NFL talent, particularly on offense, from last season. It brought in Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter and true freshman Julian Lewis to compete for the starting quarterback role. However, after he came in to save the game for Colorado last week, Ryan Staub is reportedly going to start for Colorado at quarterback. The Buffaloes have used three different quarterbacks, three different running backs, and don’t have a single receiver with more than five catches through two games.
Tanner Koziol Anytime TD Scorer (-110)
My favorite player prop bet for this game is for Houston tight end Tanner Koziol to score a touchdown. Former Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman has had a solid start to his Houston career, leading the Cougars to a 2-0 start. This win over Colorado would be massive for Houston as it looks to take the program in the right direction after a tough last couple of seasons. Houston has a strong running game, led by Dean Connors, which has helped Weigman thrive in the passing game. His favorite target by far has been Koziol. Through two games, Koziol already has 13 catches for 115 yards and a score. Nobody else on the team has more than five catches. Colorado still has a lot of things to work out, and Houston should be able to jump on the Buffs and score points. The running game should set up the play-action pass game in the red zone, allowing Weigman to hit Koziol for a touchdown.
Dean Conners 55+ Rushing Yards (-125)
Dean Conners has also been a great weapon for the Houston Cougars this season. Last week against Rice, he had 132 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Conner Weigman’s athleticism and the good run-pass balance this offense possesses have allowed Conners to thrive. Houston has used multiple running backs this season as they have faced a couple of inferior opponents. However, in their Big 12 opener against Colorado, Conners should get an even bigger share of the carries. Colorado was gashed on the ground, giving up 320 yards, in their season opener against Georgia Tech. Both quarterback Haynes King and running back Jamal Haynes rushed for 65 or more yards in that game. In this matchup, Dean Conners should hit at least 55 yards on the ground.
