Both of these teams are coming off of the two highest-scoring matchups of Week 1, and I think the trend continues. The Bills’ defense was putrid against the Ravens in Week 1, and the Jets’ offensive scheme profiles somewhat similarly to the Ravens with a dual-threat quarterback and strong rushing attack. Buffalo’s defense ranks dead last in EPA/play and second-to-last in rushing EPA, which bodes well for both Justin Fields and Breece Hall. New York’s offense ranks fourth in EPA/play and fifth in rushing EPA, for reference. The Bills have averaged 25.1 points per game against the Jets in the Josh Allen era (since 2018) and are no strangers to high-scoring affairs with elite quarterback play from the reigning MVP.
Brenton Strange 4+ Receptions (at CIN)
Brenton Strange finds himself as a top receiving option for Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars offense under new head coach Liam Coen’s scheme. The third-year tight end hauled in all four of his targets for 59 yards in Week 1 against the Panthers, a receiving total that led all Jaguars’ pass catchers. Had Jacksonville not jumped out to an early 20-3 lead in the first half, Strange likely would have posted an even bigger day, especially considering he caught three balls for 49 yards in just the first quarter and was not targeted again until the fourth quarter. This should be a back-and-forth affair with both offenses bouncing back, too. Cincinnati has been unable to cover opposing tight ends dating back to last season and ranks first in receptions allowed (10) and second in receiving yards (100) after a rough outing against Cleveland’s tight end duo in Week 1.
Jerry Jeudy 60+ Receiving Yards (at BAL)
When Jerry Jeudy was asked what challenges the talented Ravens’ secondary posed for him and the Browns’ offense in Week 2, he simply replied with “No challenges.” So, Jeudy will go off and gain +100 aura points, or he will play poorly and look like a fool. The Ravens’ defense ranks 31st in EPA/play and 30th in dropback EPA following their Week 1 high-scoring affair versus the Bills. Joe Flacco was slinging it in Week 1 against the Bengals, totaling 290 passing yards on 45 passing attempts, and could be in the same situation in Week 2. Jeudy hauled in 5-of-8 targets for 66 yards last week and has cleared 60+ receiving yards in three career games versus Baltimore.
