Will Smith was slated to start Wednesday’s game against the Colorado Rockies and bat third in the lineup. Unfortunately, he was scratched at the last minute and has been replaced by Ben Rortvedt.

There has been no reason as to why Smith was scratched at the last minute. Smith did miss five games due to a right hand contusion last week but returned on Tuesday and went 1-for-4 with a double and run scored.
Rortvedt has appeared in 31 games this season and racked up 83 plate appearances, contributing five runs and six RBI. The walk rate is 9.6%, strikeout rate is 20.5% but the ISO is a microscopic .014. Smith has a .202 ISO, 14.7% walk rate, 20.4% strikeout rate and has 17 home runs, 64 runs, 61 RBI and two stolen bases in 436 plate appearances this season.
