The WWE is hosting its sixth Worlds Collide event on Friday, September 12, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the second World’s Collide event with AAA and WWE in 2025. Worlds Collide began as an event hosted by WCW and AAA, reestablished under the WWE banner in 2019, and after three years away, returned this year.
WWE purchased AAA in April, and Friday’s event will mark their third premium live event working with them. Triplemania XXXIII occurred on August 16 and was the first AAA event promoted by WWE while airing on their YouTube channel. WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio is headlining Worlds Collide Las Vegas against current AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo.

AAA Mega Championship Match
El Hijo del Vikingo (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio
At Triplemania XXXIII, El Hijo del Vikingo successfully defended his title against El Grande Americano, Dragon Lee, and Dominik Mysterio. El Hijo del Vikingo is currently in his second reign as champion and has held the title for 100 days. He previously held the title for over 800 days, from December 2021 to March 2024.
I predicted Mysterio would win the title at Triplemania, but he came up short. Although El Hijo del Vikingo has been a great champion for AAA, Mysterio winning the AAA Mega Championship while already being the IC Champion makes him an even bigger superstar. Mysterio calls himself the greatest luchador of all time, and winning this title would validate that statement.
Prediction: Dominik Mysterio defeats El Hijo del Vikingo to become the AAA Mega Championship.
AAA Tag Team Championship Match
(C) Pagano & Psycho Clown vs. The New Day
Since turning heel, The New Day have been very entertaining while making an excellent transition from the ultimate good guys to bad guys. The New Day have held the WWE Tag Team Championship 12 times but have never been champions in an outside organization. With Pagano & Psycho Clown recently winning the titles less than a month ago, it would be surprising to see them lose so soon.
Prediction: Pagano & Psycho Clown defeat The New Day to retain their Championship.
Mixed Tag Team Match
Mr. Iguana & Lola Vice vs. Finn Balor and Roxxane Perez
When WWE began to incorporate AAA talent at WWE events, Mr. Iguana instantly became a fan favorite. He oozes charisma and is so exciting to watch each time he enters the ring. Mr. Iguana has faced Judgment Day multiple times and adds another chapter on Friday. With the Judgment Day beating Mr. Iguana at Triplemania, Worlds Collide is an excellent spot for him to get his revenge.
Prediction: Mr. Iguana & Lola Vice defeat Finn Balor and Roxxane Perez.
#1 Contender Match for the Reina de Reinas Championship
Faby Apache vs. Natalya
After two matches on opposite sides of each other, Faby Apache and Natalya will finally face off in a singles match. Even though Natalya isn’t a regular competitor in AAA, she has shown a new side to herself in AAA and could continue that if she wins a title opportunity on Friday.
Prediction: Natalya defeats Faby Apache to become the No. 1 Contender for the Reina de Reinas Championship.
Latin American Championship Match
(C) El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Dragon Lee vs. Ethan Page vs. JD McDonagh
El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. just beat El Mesias to win the Latin American Championship less than three weeks ago. Now he has three formidable challengers from WWE and NXT at Worlds Collide. Ethan Page enters this match already with gold, as he is the current NXT North American Champion. Page has the best chance of the challengers, but Dragon Lee and JD McDonagh aren’t ready to be singles champions yet.
Prediction: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. successfully defends his title against Dragon Lee, Ethan Page, and JD McDonagh.
Lucha Showcase eight-man tag team match
La Parka, Mascarita Sagrada, Nino Hamburguesa, and Octagon Jr. vs. Latino World Order and Mini Abismo Negro
Another match on this card is an eight-man tag team match with wrestlers from WWE and AAA. The LWO have had a tough time recently, as they haven’t won a match on WWE television since July 21 on Monday Night Raw. They lost to Aero Star, Mr. Iguana, and Octagon Jr. at the first Worlds Collide event in June. Until the LWO proves they can win matches consistently, it is hard to trust them.
Prediction: La Parka, Mascarita Sagrada, Nino Hamburguesa, and Octagon Jr. defeat the Latino World Order and Mini Abismo Negro.
