What happened to Luis Garcia? Live Injury updates for Astros vs. Blue Jays 9/9/25

After pitching 1.2 innings to start Tuesday’s matchup against Toronto, Luis Garcia exited the game. He threw an 88 mph changeup and then signaled for help from the training staff before ultimately being pulled.

Garcia underwent Tommy John surgery in 2023, and Tuesday’s start was only his second of this season after missing all of 2024. He went six innings in his first start against the Angels on September 1st, giving up three runs while throwing six strikeouts for an ERA of 4.50. If this is another serious issue for Garcia, it will be a big blow to the Astros’ rotation that was hoping for him to be a big part of their postseason run.
