One game remains in Week 1: Monday Night Football’s Bears vs. Vikings. It’s an NFC North rivalry featuring two of quarterbacks selected in the top 10 of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Caleb Williams and J.J. McCarthy headline these teams, with the latter making his NFL debut this season. Both quarterbacks have offensive weapons around them, with the Bears featuring another 2024 top 10 pick in Rome Odunze.
The wide receiver finished last season with 734 yards and three touchdowns on 54 receptions. He’ll make his sophomore season debut on Monday Night Football against the Vikings.

Odunze was relatively quiet in his first season compared to other rookie wide receivers. He caught just 54 of 101 targets and finished with 734 receiving yards and just three receiving touchdowns. For a top 10 pick, many expected a bit more.
That said, the Bears had a busy wide receiver room in 2024. DJ Moore and Keenan Allen were both ahead of Odunze on the depth chart, and Williams was adjusting to the NFL as a rookie, too. Now, Williams has a full season of experience, and Allen is on the Chargers, making room for Odunze in the offense.
When the Bears used their two top 10 picks on Williams and Odunze, they likely envisioned the two being a dynamic duo with the franchise for many years. One down year as rookies shouldn’t determine how well their future could be.
Monday night will be the first opportunity this season for the duo to showcase their connection. Williams should look for Odunze often in this against the Vikings. Moore will be the defense’s priority, making Odunze’s game a little easier.
