Two teams entering the 2025 season with vastly different expectations will square off in Week 1 as the Denver Broncos host the Tennessee Titans.
No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward makes his much-anticipated NFL debut for Tennessee, while Denver begins a campaign with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations. The Broncos are currently 8.5-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook, and for good reason.
Here are my three favorite player prop bets for this lopsided matchup:
Cam Ward Under 193.5 Passing Yards (-113)
While Cam Ward absolutely earned his spot as the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft, there may not be a tougher setting for an NFL debut than Mile High Stadium.
Between the altitude, an elite Broncos defense, and limited supporting talent, Ward is facing a brutal introduction to the league. Denver allowed just 19.0 points per game in 2024 (third fewest in the NFL) and a league-low 14.9 points per game at home.
Beyond Calvin Ridley, the Titans’ receiving corps is thin — with a declining Tyler Lockett and a Day 3 rookie in Elic Ayomanor likely rounding out the top three. Ward may be a star in the making, but don’t expect fireworks in his first outing. This line is low for a reason, and it’s still worth the under.
R.J. Harvey Over 12.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Denver added second-round pick R.J. Harvey to juice up their backfield, and he’s already shown flashes this preseason. The Central Florida product racked up 1,577 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns last season — but it’s his pass-catching upside that we’re targeting here.
Harvey logged 61 receptions for 720 yards and four TDs in college, and his 4.4 speed makes him a nightmare in space. With Sean Payton calling plays, expect the Broncos to dial up screens and swing passes to get the rookie in rhythm.
Denver boasts one of the league’s top offensive lines and should control this game throughout, especially against a Titans defense that struggled in 2024. Thirteen receiving yards is a very modest ask for a player who could be a sneaky breakout candidate in Week 1.
J.K. Dobbins Over 42.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
This feels like the perfect spot for J.K. Dobbins to shine. Now fully healthy and coming off a bounce-back season with the Chargers (905 yards, 9 TDs on 195 carries), Dobbins steps into a likely early-down role in Sean Payton’s offense — especially in positive game scripts like this one.
With Denver likely playing from ahead, look for Dobbins to handle the clock-killing work in the second half. Harvey may get the flashy touches, but Dobbins should lead this backfield in carries.
Tennessee allowed the seventh-most rushing yards per game and ranked 21st in fantasy points allowed to RBs last season. Dobbins has a golden opportunity to make a statement out of the gate.
