It’s been a magical year for Kyle Schwarber in 2025. In only 133 games and 592 plate appearances, Schwarber has hit 45 home runs with a career-high .318 ISO. Back in 2022, he finished with 46 home runs in 669 plate appearances. In 2023, he had 47 home runs in 720 plate appearances.
Well, on Thursday in Philadelphia against the Atlanta Braves, Schwarber had a historic night to make his magical season even more majestic.
In the first inning, he took two pitches low for balls. He fouled off the third pitch, then unloaded on a curveball in the middle of the plate and deposited it 450 feet into the right-field seats.
In the fourth inning, with a man on board, Schwarber took three pitches down and low for balls. He then took the next two pitches for strikes before fouling off a curveball. On the seventh pitch of the at-bat, Schwarber got another curveball and sent that 383 feet into the right-field seats for his second of the night.
In the fifth inning, with two men on, Schwarber clubbed his third home run of the night against a lefty, sending an oppo taco 378 feet into the left-field seats. To start off the at-bat, Schwarber took a slider low and inside for a ball. He took a fastball for a strike, then fouled off another fastball on the next pitch. After taking a cutter low and inside for a ball, Schwarber sent an outside fastball over the left-field wall.
In the seventh inning, he once again entered the batter’s box with two men aboard. And once again, he brought them all home with his fourth home run of the night. He took a first-pitch fastball for a strike. The next pitch was a changeup low and outside the zone. He swung through the next pitch, another changeup. The pitcher tried to triple up with another changeup, but Schwarber was ready and sent it 407 feet into the right-field seats.
Schwarber did have two other at-bats in the game. In the second inning, he flew out to center. In the eighth inning, he popped out to left.
Thursday was the 35th multi-homer game of Schwarber’s career. He has had three games with three home runs.
Schwarber’s four-homer game on Thursday was the 21st time in MLB history that the feat has been accomplished.
