The final Grand Slam on the tennis calendar begins this weekend as the best players in the world are in New York City for the US Open.
These are my US Open best bets to target on DraftKings Sportsbook for the futures market and a lookahead to the first round.
2025 US Open Odds: Men’s Singles
The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the season. It has been a fantastic year for men’s tennis, with the rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz taking center stage. Sinner started the season strong, winning the Australian Open. The two then played one of the most epic finals in the history of the sport at Roland Garros, with Alcaraz coming from behind to steal the title. The top two players in the world then faced off again in the Wimbledon Final, with Sinner getting his revenge and winning his second Grand Slam of the year. The two seem destined for a Federer-Nadal type of rivalry over the next decade at the top of the sport.
However, there are plenty of other names to watch at the 2025 US Open, despite the dominance of those top two players. Novak Djokovic could be participating in the final US Open of his legendary career, as his future remains a mystery. Meanwhile, there is also a collection of American men desperate to bring tennis glory back to their home nation on the men’s side of the sport for the first time in over two decades. All of these storylines will be great to follow, but as the odds at DraftKings Sportsbook reflect, all roads lead back to Sinner and Alcaraz.
Best Bet: Jannik Sinner (+110)
Jannik Sinner is the favorite for a reason. He has won two of the three Grand Slams this season, and it took an epic collapse to lose the French Open and not be entering this tournament with the single-season Grand Slam in sight. Sinner dominated his way through the Australian Open, the only other Grand Slam of the year played on hardcourt. He is also the defending champion here in Queens. Dating back to the 2024 Australian Open, Sinner has now won each of the past three Grand Slams played on hardcourt. Many experts agree that Sinner also has the easiest path to the semifinals, with Jack Draper and Tommy Paul being his toughest competition to make it out of his quarter. Sinner simply seems unstoppable at the moment, and despite the odds, is the best bet to win the US Open.

The Americans: Fritz, Shelton, Paul and Tiafoe
The American men are always a big storyline at the US Open, but particularly this year. American women have been at the top of the sport and won major titles over the past 25 years. Of course, the Williams sisters dominated the sport for years, but Sloane Stephens and Coco Gauff have also won US Opens in recent years. An American man, however, has not won the US Open since Andy Roddick in 2003. That is also the last time an American man won any Grand Slam title. For years, it seemed like the American men were massively behind the pack as the likes of Djokovic, Federer and Nadal dominated the sport. However, there has been a resurgence in American men’s tennis, and it seems like they are closer to winning a major title than they have been in a long time.
Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe are all ranked inside the top 17 in the world heading into the US Open. The United States is the only country with four men ranked that highly. Only one other country has three players in the top 17, and the rest have two or fewer. So, within the top 20 of the sport, the American men actually take up the biggest amount of real estate. However, they have been unable to break through and defeat the likes of Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner when it matters most. Last year, Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe both made the US Open semifinals, and Ben Shelton made it in 2023. With so much firepower, this could be the year an American man finally breaks through.
Taylor Fritz is the fourth-ranked player in the world at the moment. Until Taylor Fritz did it last year, an American man had not finished the season ranked inside the top five since James Blake in 2006. Fritz had a sensational season, making it to his first-ever Grand Slam final at the 2024 US Open. Fritz has proven himself to be one of the best players in the world this season, making the Wimbledon semifinals and winning two ATP 250 titles. Despite Fritz being the highest-ranked player in his quarter of the bracket, Novak Djokovic is the favorite to make the semifinals from that group. I am betting on Fritz to take care of business and make it back to the semifinals for the second straight year. At +330, there is great value on the American who is in great form, has confidence at this tournament after last year and will have the crowd at his back every match.

2025 US Open Odds: Women’s Singles
On the women’s side, there has been much more parity this season compared to the dominance from the top two on the men’s side. Since Wimbledon in 2024, there have been five different winners of the women’s singles Grand Slam titles. Americans Madison Keys and Coco Gauff have both won Grand Slam titles this season, as well as former World No. 1 Iga Swiatek. Aryna Sabalenka is still the No. 1 player in the world, and she is the defending champion here at the US Open. With all of these exciting players, it should be an incredibly exciting tournament with twists and turns along the way. Swiatek is the favorite to win the event, with Sabalenka not far behind. However, the American women are hoping to claim their third Grand Slam title of the year.
Any American Player to Win (+325)
My favorite bet on the women’s side is for any American player to win. Swiatek and Sabalenka are at the top of the odds board, but both have struggled at times this season. After them, there are plenty of American women who can take this title. Madison Keys and Coco Gauff have both already won Grand Slam titles this season, both defeating Sabalenka in their respective finals. Gauff is also a former champion here at the US Open, defeating Sabalenka in that final as well. In addition to those two, Jessica Pegula is also the fourth-ranked player in the world. Pegula lost to Sabalenka in the 2024 US Open Final and would love the chance to get back there and redeem herself. Emma Navarro is also in the mix as the 11th-ranked woman in the world. She is just 24 years old and made her first Grand Slam semifinal at the 2024 US Open. She is hoping to have another strong tournament this year. With the support of the New York crowd, I am backing one of these four women to take down Sabalenka or Swiatek to claim the 2025 US Open women’s singles title
1st Quarter Winner: Aryna Sabalenka (-125)
My other best bet for the tournament is for Aryna Sabalenka to win her quarter of the bracket. At -125, it is impossible to pass up betting on Sabalenka to at least make the semifinals. Of the last five Grand Slams played on hardcourt, she has made all five finals and has won three of them. Specifically at the US Open, she has made four straight semifinals dating back to 2021. She is the defending champion at this event and will be desperate to win after failing to win a Grand Slam at this point in the season. Sabalenka is the most consistent player in the sport. She has made the semifinals in 10 of her past 11 Grand Slam appearances. She could have a tough test against Elena Rybakina or Jasmine Paolini in the quarterfinals, but before that, she should cruise through the first several rounds. Sabalenka will be a much bigger favorite than -125 against Rybakina or Paolini in the quarters, if one of those women even makes it, making this the best bet in this market.
