The Aces are looking to extend their winning streak to nine games when they host the Mercury tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Las Vegas is favored by 1.5 points and the game total is set at O/U 170.5 points.

A’ja Wilson has been on fire lately and has carried her team to eight straight wins entering tonight’s matchup against the Mercury. The 3x MVP has cleared this line in five of her last six games and in both matchups against Phoenix this season. Wilson missed a Commissioner’s Cup Game on June 15 against the Mercury, and the Aces lost 70-76 as a result. Even with Wilson on the court for the other matchups, both were decided by three or fewer points, so Phoenix has shown it can roll with the big dawgs.
Knowing that the game will likely come down to the wire makes me even more confident that we’re going to see another classic masterclass from the 29-year-old. Wilson has grabbed at least 12 rebounds in six of her last eight games, as well as 16 and 18 rebounds, respectively, in the two previous matchups this season versus the Mercury. The Mercury have allowed the fourth-most rebounds per game this season and while Satou Sabally’s height matches Wilson’s, she is simply not as dominant on the boards. Across Las Vegas’ eight-game winning streak, the former Gamecock has averaged 13.1 rebounds per game.
As for the scoring department, Wilson has been on another level recently. She has scored at least 30 points in four of her last five games, including a 30-point performance versus Phoenix one week ago. Her recent success does admittedly worry me because she is prone to incredibly random, poor shooting performances and the Mercury rank third in defensive rating. But, you don’t fade the best player on the court in what should be a high-scoring and back-and-forth affair.
