The 3x WNBA MVP has dropped 30+ points in three of her last four games while shooting 48% from the field. A’ja Wilson is certainly prone to poor shooting performances here and there, but she has found success against the Dream in the past and cleared this line in their recent matchup on July 22. Wilson unsurprisingly leads the league in usage rate (30.5%) and is tied for the most field goal attempts per game (16.1), so the scoring opportunities will be there all game long.
Both of these teams have been cooking, so I’m expecting a high-scoring affair. Las Vegas is more than capable of running up the scoreboard, but it also ranks ninth in defensive rating, so Atlanta will have plenty of offensive opportunities to stay in the game. If that happens, Wilson will keep her foot on the gas offensively and likely attempt 20+ shots. She has recorded 21+ field goal attempts in seven games this season, with four of those games being decided by five or fewer points. During the Aces’ current seven-game winning streak, the 29-year-old center has averaged 26.1 points.
