Home runs. Long balls. Bleacher reachers. Whatever you want to call them, people love watching and betting on home run props during baseball games. So much so, we’ve got a whole article dedicated to just that.
With a doubleheader in Chicago, we’ve got a whopping 16 games on the schedule for Tuesday. It should be easy enough to find three players we like to go deep. Let’s dive in.
Top Home Run Props on DraftKings Sportsbook
Juan Soto 1+ Home Run (+290)
There are few pitchers I’ve written up in this space as often as Jake Irvin, but it’s for good reason. In fact, coming into Tuesday’s slate, Irvin has conceded the most opponent home runs of any pitcher in baseball, sitting in a three-way tie at 27 with Tyler Anderson and Zack Littell. Woof. Specific to opposing LHBs, Irvin is surrendering a whopping 2.03 long balls per nine, the direct result of a sixth percentile opponent barrel rate (11.7%) and a fourth percentile whiff rate (17.4%). You simply can not be that prone to giving up premium contact without missing a few more bats. It’s a terrible combination. Juan Soto is obviously one of the best left-handed bats in MLB and he’s already taken Irvin yard this season, hitting a two-run shot versus the RHP back on June 11. In 2025, no qualified batter has a higher expected slugging percentage in matchups with right-handed pitching than Soto (.708).
Roman Anthony 1+ Home Run (+550)
Roman Anthony has had an amazing start to his MLB career, though his batted ball profile is somewhat reminiscent of a young Vladimir Guerrero Jr. back in 2020. A comparison to Vladdy is never a bad thing, and we can easily see how Anthony stacks up with the perennial All-Star in terms of his ability to register elite marks in average exit velocity (94.4) and hard hit rate (57.7%). However, he’s also mimicking Vlad’s lower than ideal launch angle, as Anthony’s in possession of just a 29.2% fly ball rate through his first 240 plate appearances with the Red Sox. That’s the reason that the 21-year-old has only four home runs, despite his jaw-dropping metrics. All that said, I think Anthony hits No. 5 this evening against Tomoyuki Sugano. The Japanese rookie has surrendered a 1.76 home runs per nine to opposing LHBs in 2025 and he almost never strikes anyone out. That’s a tough way to get outs in the AL East.
Andrew Vaughn 1+ Home Run (+550)
Just to be clear, I’m picking Vaughn’s home run prop in Game 2 of today’s doubleheader against the Cubs. That’s when Jameson Taillon will be taking the mound for the first time in over seven weeks. In the 17 starts Taillon made prior to going on the IL, the veteran RHP surrendered 22 opponent home runs in only 95.1 innings of action. 12 of those 22 came off the bat of an RHB, which translated to a stunning 2.51 long balls per nine within the split. Not ideal! While the wind will apparently be blowing in from left field this evening at Wrigley, I’m still willing to take a chance on Vaughn. The former third-overall pick has been an absolute beast since being traded away from the White Sox. To wit, Vaughn is slashing .325/.391/.598 as a member of the Brewers with nine home runs and a .274 ISO. At this point, there’s no fighting the magic of Milwaukee, so we all might as well profit financially.
