The Dream are on a heater, winning five straight and seven of their last eight games. Now, they have a back-to-back matchup with the Storm, with the first game on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Atlanta is a one-point favorite and -115 on the moneyline, while Seattle is -105 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Here’s my prediction and pick for Wednesday’s Dream vs. Storm matchup.
Dream vs. Storm prediction
While the Dream have stepped into the top three of the league, the standings are still close with about a dozen games remaining. Atlanta is just 4.5 games ahead of the eighth-seeded Storm.
The Lynx are the only team realistically out of reach as they’re 6.5 games ahead of Atlanta. So, even with recent win streak, the Dream need to maintain their success to earn a top seed in the postseason.
Wednesday’s game will be in Seattle. It’s the third game between these two clubs as they split the first two matchups.
While the Dream are on fire, the Storm have cooled off. They’re on a five-game losing streak and sit at 16-16 ahead of this game. They are, however, expected to be fully healthy.
That’s not the case for Atlanta, who could be without Jordin Canada. She was helped to the locker room after a non-contact leg injury on Sunday, so her status is undetermined at this point. Canada averages 12 points and 5.7 assists per game.
Dream vs. Storm pick, best bet
With or without Canada, the Dream should be able to take care of business. They’re on fire lately, and I’m going to ride the wave.
It also helps that the Storm are on a losing streak. Grab the Dream’s spread at -1 (-105), or play the moneyline if you want a little more security.
