What happened to Nick Lodolo? Live updates for Cubs vs. Reds 8/4/25

After getting the first five outs of the game on Monday vs. the Cubs, Reds SP Nick Lodolo called for a trainer to come out to the mound. It appeared that a blister opened up on his pitching hand and he was ultimately forced to leave the game. He was replaced by Nick Martinez out of the bullpen.

Lodolo had been having a great season for the Reds, pitching to a 3.05 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 129.2 innings before Monday’s start. Blister issues usually don’t go away so quickly, so stay tuned for updates on how long Lodolo could potentially be sidelined.
