Could Shedeur Sanders Win Offensive Rookie of the Year? NFL Predictions, Betting Splits for Cleveland

Published:

By: Nick Friar

As if the quarterback battle in Cleveland wasn’t already interesting enough with Shedeur Sanders in the mix, Kenny Pickett is now down with a hamstring injury. It appears Joe Flacco will get starting duties early, but that could very well change over the course of the season.

In fact, some betting splits indicate Sanders will get his chance to make some noise despite Flacco looking like the Week 1 starter following Pickett’s injury. Let’s get into those numbers, along with others that DraftKings Sportsbook bettors should know.

Shedeur Sanders Offensive Rookie of the Year Candidacy

After being 144th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders was +2500 odds to win 2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year. Since those odds opened, seven percent of the handle and five percent of the bets made in this market have been placed on Sanders.

That said, his odds have also since ballooned to +4000. While some level of sharp money may have gone Sanders’ way, his odds lengthening does not bode well for this pick.

Myles Garrett Defensive Player of the Year Candidacy

After being named Defensive Player of the Year in 2023, Myles Garrett finished third in the voting in 2024. In each of the last three seasons, he’s finished at least top-five in the voting.

As such, he’s got the third-shortest odds to win the honor in 2025 at +850. While that makes him an appealing option, these odds are a boost from +750. That movement may be the result of Garrett seeing six percent of the handle on 10% of the bets made in this market. Sharp money isn’t backing him here.

A better option may be the “STAT LEADERS” category. Garrett has the second shortest odds at +600 โ€” this is also where his odds opened. So far, he’s seen the greatest percentage of handle in this market.

Browns Win Total

Cleveland has had one of the steeper dips in the Win Total market. Before 2024, they had a line of 8.5. This year, the Browns are down to 4.5.

Even with that low line, the sharps are attacking the under. Cleveland finishing under 4.5 regular season wins has seen 53% of this betting option’s handle on 41% of the bets.

Other Notable Player Prop Splits

The trend of fading Cleveland continues for the sharps as we look to the season-long props available for Browns players on DraftKings Sportsbook:

  • David Njoku’s Regular Season Receiving Yards prop is set at 675.5. The under has seen 60% of the handle on 25% of the bets.
  • Jerry Jeudy’s Regular Season Receiving Yards prop is set at 925.5. The under has seen 66% of the handle on 43% of the bets.

Both have clear, sharp leans. Given the quarterback situation, the leans make sense โ€” and either is a justifiable option.

While the data above will help you with season-long plays, the following stats produced by Njoku, Jeudy and Jerome Ford in 2024 are instead applicable to gameday player props.

  • David Njoku
    • Receptions: 11-5 to the over
  • Jerry Jeudy
    • Receptions: 11-5 to the over
  • Jerome Ford
    • Rushing Attempts: 11-2 to the under
