There are three games of WNBA action taking place across today’s Wednesday, July 30th slate.
To open things up at 7:00 p.m. ET, the Indiana Fever and Phoenix Mercury will face off. Then, at 8:00 p.m. ET, a pair of matchups will be taking place, as the Atlanta Dream and Dallas Wings compete for the third time this season, while the New York Liberty will travel to face the Minnesota Lynx. This showdown between the two WNBA title favorites will especially catch some attention as the playoffs begin to inch closer on the horizon.
With three matchups on the table, here are my favorite WNBA prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s games.
Kelsey Mitchell Over 19.5 Points (-105)
Caitlin Clark remains sidelined with a groin injury for Indiana. The Fever have done a nice job treading water without their biggest star, with Kelsey Mitchell stepping up in a major way as Clark’s injury issues have been increasingly frequent. The three-time All-Star is averaging a career-high 20.2 points per game on the season.
In the three games since the All-Star break, she has produced scoring outputs of 29, 21 and 35. She has also tallied over 19.5 points in six of her last seven games and 14 of 26 games overall. A large reason for the recent scoring growth has been Mitchell’s increase in shot volume. Across her past three contests, she has attempted 21, 24 and 19 shots — each well above the 15.7 field goal attempts Mitchell averages per contest for the season.
Expect this increase in offensive opportunity to continue with Clark remaining sidelined. Phoenix is allowing 79.8 points per game and ranks fourth in defensive rating. This will be the first matchup between these two teams this season, but Mitchell dropped 28 points in her lone matchup with the Mercury last year while Clark was on the floor. Count on the 29-year-old to continue filling Clark’s shoes and help lead the offensive charge for the Fever by recording over 19.5 points for the seventh time in the past eight games.
Paige Bueckers Over 16.5 Points (-120)
After a few struggles out of the gate, Paige Bueckers has settled in for an excellent rookie season. The No. 1 overall pick is averaging 18.2 points, 5.5 assists and 4.0 steals per game, while seeing some growth in her shooting efficiency of late. Bueckers has also performed better at home this season, averaging 18.9 per contest at home compared to 17.8 on the road. The Wings will host the Dream tonight and are coming off a blowout victory over the New York Liberty in the previous game, in which Bueckers dropped 20 points.
Bueckers has tallied over 16.5 points in 13 of 21 games overall. This includes each of her last four home games and in six of the eight games in July. Dallas will be facing the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday, who rank eighth in defensive rating and fourth in opponent points allowed. They also rank eighth in opponent field goal percentage and ninth in opponent three-point percentage.
This will be the third matchup between these two teams this season, and Bueckers has struggled against Atlanta thus far. The UConn product was limited to 11 and 12 points, respectively, in the two matchups thus far, shooting a combined 10-for-30 (33.3%) from the field and 1-for-5 (20%) on three-point attempts. But Bueckers has found her stride of late and is playing with confidence. With momentum on her side, expect this to be her best performance of the season against the Dream and tally over 16.5 points for the third straight game.
Napheesa Collier Over 21.5 Points (-110)
The New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx will be facing off for the first time since last year’s WNBA Finals. The pair of teams enter as the two title favorites for this season, and expect falling short in the Game 5 winner-take-all last season to still be fresh on Napheesa Collier’s mind. The Lynx star has been playing at an incredible level all season and has climbed to the MVP favorite, while the Lynx have remained in the top seed in the WNBA all season.
Collier is averaging 23.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this year. She has tallied over 21.5 points in 16 of 24 games, including eight of the 14 games at home. Expect some added motivation on Collier’s side and for the matchup to be a bit easier with Breanna Stewart sidelined. While the Liberty sit in second place in the standings, they rank eighth in opponent points per game and rank eighth in opponent points in the paint allowed.
The Lynx will be looking to bounce back from their first home loss of the season in their previous game, but Collier dropped 32 points in the effort. She has also tallied over 21.5 points in four of the past six games. There should be plenty of motivation on Collier’s side and the Lynx star will likely lead the charge and play up to the MVP standard she has set for herself. With Stewart missing for the Liberty, last year’s playoff exit in mind, and this number being well within Collier’s range, this has all the makings of a strong offensive performance. Count on the Lynx standout to continue playing to her standard and drop at least 22 points tonight.
