The PGA TOUR heads to Greensboro, North Carolina, this week for the final event of the regular season: the Wyndham Championship. Sedgefield Country Club will be the host and measures as a 7,131-yard par 70 with Bermuda grass greens.
We’ve got another 156-player field this week with a 36-hole cut. Matt Fitzpatrick is betting favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook at +2000, while Ben Griffin (+2500), Keegan Bradley (+2500) and Aaron Rai (+2800) round out the top of the odds board.
Below I have outlined my two favorite bets for the week.
Jake Knapp to win (+4000)
Knapp is enjoying a phenomenal 2025 season and is currently playing some of the best golf on the PGA TOUR. He’s coming off a strong T3 finish at the 3M Open, where he contended until the final hole and led the field in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee. Knapp has recorded four top-10 finishes this season, including two top-four results in his last four starts. He’s made five consecutive cuts and hasn’t finished worse than T27 over that stretch, showcasing both consistency and high-end performance.
While the irons remain a work in progress, Knapp is excelling in nearly every other area of his game—especially on the greens. He ranks fourth in this field in Strokes Gained: Putting over his past 24 rounds and gained an impressive 10.9 strokes with the flat stick at the Scottish Open two starts ago.
Knapp hasn’t added a second PGA TOUR win since his breakthrough at the Mexico Open two years ago, but he’s been trending in the right direction for some time. With the way he’s striking it off the tee and rolling it on the greens, he has to be considered one of the top contenders this week.
At 40/1, Knapp feels like one of the better value plays on the board this week.
Rickie Fowler to win (+5000)
Fowler has quietly been playing some strong golf lately, posting finishes of T18 or better in five of his last nine starts, highlighted by a season-best T7 at the Memorial in May. His recent form has been especially encouraging—over his past three starts, he ranks 10th in this field in Total Strokes Gained, thanks to a balanced all-around game. He sits 16th in SG: Tee-to-Green, 23rd in SG: Ball-Striking, and 42nd in SG: Putting during that stretch.
Fowler hasn’t teed it up often at this event over the years, but he did record a T22 finish here back in 2016.
While every week on the PGA TOUR matters, there may be a little extra urgency for Fowler this week—he currently sits 65th in the FedExCup standings and needs to stay inside the top 70 to lock up a spot in the playoffs. That added motivation could work in his favor.
While Fowler hasn’t found major success at Sedgefield, he has had strong performances at other comparable parkland courses in his career—most notably PGA National, home of the Cognizant (Honda) Classic, where he earned a victory back in 2017.
Fowler’s last win came two years ago at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, and events like the Wyndham feel well-suited to where his game is at in this stage of his career. At 50/1, he stands out as a strong value in this field.
