Golf Best Bets: Top longshot winner picks for the Wyndham Championship

The Wyndham Championship will be played at Sedgefield Country Club (par 70, 7,131 yards, Bermuda greens) in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is the final event before the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the top-70 players in the FedEx Cup Standings will advance to the FedEx St. Jude Championship next week. The Wyndham Championship is hosting 156 golfers and there will be a standard top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.

Below, I have featured two of my favorite longshot outright bets to win the Wyndham Championship on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Pierceson Coody (+7000)

Coody was in the mix for the first PGA TOUR win of his career last week at the 3M Open, finishing T-3 and only three strokes back of the winner in Kurt Kitayama. At TPC Twin Cities, Coody shot 67 or better in all four of his rounds and he gained strokes in every major category, which is the second time in his last four starts that he has accomplished this. Coody’s T-3 at the 3M Open marks his best finish of the season and his third top-25 finish in his last five starts.

The former Texas Longhorn will now look to build off this showing at Sedgefield CC, where he finished T-61 in his first appearance at the par 70 last season. Coody is a far more polished player now, sitting at a career-best No. 103 in the world golf rankings, which is 45 spots higher than his ranking heading into his Wyndham Championship debut a year ago.

Coody should be oozing with confidence after contending at the 3M Open last week and he will need to have another outstanding performance this week if he wants to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Coody currently sits 137th in the FedEx Cup standings and only the top-70 players will earn an invite to next week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship. Winning the Wyndham Championship is Coody’s only way over earning enough points to advance and he should be very determined to secure his first PGA TOUR title.

Tom Kim (+7500)

Kim already has three PGA TOUR wins on his resume at only 23 years old and him securing his fourth victory in his return to Sedgefield CC this week isn’t the craziest idea. Kim will be returning to the par 70 this week for the first time since he ran away with a five-stroke victory at Sedgefield CC in 2022. That week, Kim lit the course on fire in the final round with 9-under 61, which is his career-low on the PGA TOUR.

Kim has had a disappointing season in 2025, but he appeared to have found something in his game last week at the 3M Open. Kim finished T-28 at TPC Twin Cities and he gained strokes across the board for the first time since February. Plus, Kim was red-hot in the final round with a 5-under 66.

This was an extremely encouraging sign for him and Kim will need to carry this momentum over to Sedgefield CC if he wants to qualify for next week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship, as Kim currently ranks 89th in the FedEx Cup Standings. Kim certainly wants to make the FedEx Cup Playoffs for the fourth straight season and at this long +7500 price, he is worth including on your betting card this week.
