Connecticut Sun vs. Seattle Storm prediction, pick for Monday 7/28/25

The Sun are hosting the Storm on Monday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Seattle is favored by 12 points and this game presents a total of 157.5 points.

Below, I break down the matchup between the Sun and the Storm and give a pick for the game.

Sun vs. Storm preview, prediction

It hasn’t been pretty for the Sun this season, as the club sits dead last in standings at 4-20. However, Marina Mabrey just returned two games ago after missing nine in a row with a knee injury – she ranks second for the team with 14.7 PPG this season – and Connecticut is fresh off a 31-point beatdown on the Valkyries yesterday, which is easily the team’s most convincing win of the season. In this blowout, Tina Charles led the Sun with 24 points and Mabrey and Bria Hartley both added 15 points.

The problem for Connecticut is this game was just yesterday and playing for the second time in two nights is obviously going to be a major factor Monday against the Storm, who haven’t competed since this past Saturday.

The Sun did defeat Seattle by 10 points earlier this month, but this was the first game of back-to-back contests between these two teams and after losing the first matchup, the Storm rebounded and won the second game by 14 points. Seattle is 2-1 against the Sun this season and both of those wins were by double digits.

This season, the Storm are 15-11 and the club ranks sixth in net rating, while the Sun rank dead last. Skylar Diggins and Nneka Ogwumike are leading the Storm with 17.2 and 17.1 PPG, respectively, and both players were named to the All-Star team this season, while Connecticut doesn’t have one All-Star on it’s roster.

Sun vs. Storm pick, best bet

While the Sun’s domination over Golden State on Sunday was a pleasant surprise for this Connecticut team that hasn’t had much to cheer about this season, the Sun should come back down to earth Monday with it being the second leg of a back-to-back set for the team.

This season, the Storm are a solid 7-6 on the road and both of Seattle’s wins over the Sun have been by 16 and 14 points. The Storm should cruise to an easy victory Monday and backing the club to cover this 12-point spread is the right move.

Best bet: Storm -12
