Welcome to my weekly Sunday DraftKings MLB DFS plays. I’ll break down some of the prime picks on the board, including studs and value plays, and why these players can lead your lineup to victory.

Top MLB DFS Targets
Pitcher Studs
SP Brandon Woodruff (MIL), $10,500: It’s been a triumphant return to the mound for Brandon Woodruff. After two years on the shelf with shoulder problems, he’s returned to a Brewers team angling for a deep playoff run. The 32-year-old has been a shot in the arm—pun intended. Through three starts, he’s struck out 23 batters across 16.1 innings, issuing no walks and allowing just three total runs. This Miami lineup can be spunky, but Woodruff is delivering elite SP1 value.
SP Noah Cameron (KC), $8,300: Two weeks ago, I picked Noah Cameron for our Sunday slate against the Mets. He made me look like I know what I’m doing, spinning 6.2 scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. The Guardians’ lineup has shown some life since the All-Star break but has regressed to its usual ugly results in the last few days. Cameron is another strong candidate to return SP1 value, delivering a minimum of 17.5 MLB DFS points in his last four starts.
Pitcher Value Plays
SP Jack Leiter (TEX), $6,800: Another young pitcher turning things around in a big way. Though things have been rocky at times for Jack Leiter, he’s found a way to deliver SP1 value on occasion. While the ground can fall out from under him, the risk-reward is worth it against an Atlanta lineup failing to produce consistently. 15+ points are on the table if he can keep the walks down.
SP Tomoyuki Sugano (BAL), $6,500: This could be the final start for Tomoyuki Sugano in orange. Expected to be dealt before the deadline, this is his final audition for trade suitors. And who better to face than the Colorado Rockies? One of MLB’s worst offenses, Sugano can easily return SP2 value here without needing to go deep in the game.
SP JT Ginn (ATH), $5,500: A recent addition to the Athletics’ rotation, JT Ginn gets a lucky matchup on Sunday. It seems like everyone the Astros need in the lineup is currently injured. He hasn’t been fully stretched out for starter’s innings, but at the second-lowest SP price on the board, Ginn can deliver decent DFS value if you want to spend your money elsewhere.
Infield Studs
1B Nick Kurtz (ATH), $5,100: We’ve all heard about Nick Kurtz’s six-hit, eight-RBI, four-homer game. Putting up 76 MLB DFS points in one game is absurd. You know what else is wild? Kurtz is slugging 1.082 in July. Not OPS’ing—just slugging. Only one player in MLB history has done that before: Barry Lamar Bonds. He’s swinging the best bat in the majors right now, and at closer to $5,000 than $6,000, he’s a steal. Make sure he’s in your lineup.
SS/3B Maikel Garcia (KC), $4,600: Garcia was one of the most unlikely All-Stars of the 2025 season. The 25-year-old has played a solid glove at short and third while swiping bags and hitting for a strong average. He posted his biggest performance of the month on Saturday, slugging a home run, a triple, knocking in two runs, and drawing a walk, scoring 26 DFS points. He should be able to deliver value on Sunday as well. I would play him at shortstop in your DFS lineups, where he can provide more value.
2B/3B Jordan Westburg (BAL), $4,500: It’s understandable that Jordan Westburg has been overlooked this season. He’s not one of the high-profile young stars on the Orioles, missed time with injury, and Baltimore has disappointed in a big way. But he’s putting it together now, especially against left-handed starters. With the Colorado Rockies rolling out punching bag Austin Gomber, and Westburg often batting second, he’s a candidate for a strong return on a modest price.
Infield Value Plays
2B/OF Ceddanne Rafaela (BOS), $4,200: With the Dodgers trotting out Dustin May on Sunday, I’m trying to find ways to get a few Red Sox into the lineup. Ceddanne Rafaela has a power-speed combo that should bring value here. Though he bats lower in the Red Sox lineup, they’ve been getting better results since the All-Star break. He may bring more value as an outfielder, but he can fit easily into your second base spot.
3B Josh Jung (TEX), $3,600: Looking for more value at the hot corner? Look no further than Jung. The young third baseman has recorded a modest four-game hitting streak, scoring five runs and averaging 9.5 DFS points. Atlanta is trotting out Bryce Elder, who has struggled this year. Jung is a great way to get a cheap piece of a lineup set up well for Sunday.
SS Otto Lopez (MIA), $3,200: After a 3-for-5 night with three doubles on Friday, Lopez has become a fixture in the middle of the Miami order. While they don’t project well against Brandon Woodruff, he hasn’t gone deep into games in his first three starts. Lopez will have opportunities to do damage against the bullpen, and if Woodruff gives anything up, Lopez will be in the middle of it.
Outfield Studs
OF Kyle Schwarber (PHI), $5,700: Who better to anchor your lineup than Schwarber? He’s loving life in Yankee Stadium, going 5-for-10 with two home runs, a double, three runs scored, and six RBI in the first two games. Schwarbomb has put up 14+ DFS points in four straight contests. Carlos Rodón has been great for the Yankees, but the Phillies slugger is simply too hot.
OF George Springer (TOR), $4,900: Looking for another hot hitter? Look no further than Springer. The 35-year-old has been resurgent for the Blue Jays, who have taken control of the American League. The slugging outfielder homered again on Saturday, recording his second straight 3-for-5 day against the Tigers. That’s five double-digit scoring performances in his last seven outings. Ride the hot hand.
Outfield Value Plays
OF Jarren Duran (BOS), $4,400: Need more Sox in your lineup? Duran is your man. He knocked in a run for the fourth straight game on Saturday and is on a nice run. That makes it four straight games with 8+ DFS points. The power-speed combo makes him a major upside play, and Dustin May isn’t known for keeping runners on base.
OF Jackson Chourio (MIL), $4,300: Jackson Chourio is tearing the cover off the ball in July, batting over .340 with an OPS over .900. It’s been a massive leap for the young outfielder and coincides with the best stretch of the season for the Brewers. Miami starter Eury Perez has been solid lately, but the 21-year-old Chourio is simply too hot to worry about matchups. He’s my favorite value on the board for this MLB DFS slate.
