After a big showing at the MLB Home Run Derby, Junior Caminero has continued to emerge as one of the top young hitters in Major League Baseball. On Wednesday, he and the Rays will look to make it two wins in a row over the White Sox as they take on Jonathan Cannon in the rubber game of the series at George M. Steinbrenner Field. LEt’s take a look at a top prop bet to target for Caminero in Wednesday’s matchup.
In the big picture, the Rays are heavily favored at -224 on the moneyline, with the run line at 9.0 in what could be a high-scoring matchup.
Junior Caminero 3+ Hits + Runs + RBI (+105)
Caminero has hit safely in five straight games and in nine of his last 10. Over that span, he’s 13-for-40 (.325) with four homers, eight RBI and six runs scored. He has had at least three HRR (hits, runs, and RBI) in four of those contests.
He can get all the way over this prop with one swing of the bat with a home run or a two-RBI hit, or he can piece it together as the game goes on.
He is hitting .324 with 16 homers and a .411 wOBA at home, with 141 HRR. He’s averaged 2.5 HRR in his home games, and will also be on the stronger side of his splits against a right-handed pitcher in Jonathan Cannon. Cannon is coming off a strong game in his last outing, but he has a 4.18 ERA and 4.66 FIP along with a 1.38 WHIP.
He has struggled this year on the road, with a 4.53 ERA and 5.01 xFIP in his 10 road starts. Caminero and the Rays will look to continue those struggles and put plenty of runs on the board Wednesday night. If the lineup gets moving against Cannon and the hittable White Sox bullpen, he shoud have no trouble egoing over this HRR line.
