The first round of the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club is finished, and we have a four-way tie atop the leaderboard. is Nico Echavarria (+2200), Sepp Straka (+1000), Victor Perez (+1600) and Jake Knapp (+1200) are all tied at six-under. Below, I dive into who of these four players is the best bet to win the Genesis Scottish Open on DraftKings Sportbsook.

Victor Perez (+1600)

Perez’s success at the Renaissance Club continued in Thursday’s opening round. The French professional carded only one bogey and seven birdies, including four in his final five holes. Perez stuck 14-of-18 greens and he ranks 10th in SG APP following the first round. Furthermore, he ranks 13th in SGP.

Perez’s six-under 64 on Thursday bested his career-low at the Renaissance Club by one shot and this comes after he finished T10th at the venue a year ago. Prior to this week, Perez had made 5-of-6 cuts at the Renaissance Club with three top-30 finishes. Including Thursday’s opening round, the 32-year-old has shot under par in 18 of his 23 rounds at the Renaissance Club.

This experience and success at the Renaissance Club is something the other current co-leaders simply don’t have. Before this week, Echavarria and Knapp had never competed at the Renaissance Club before and Straka had missed the cut in both of his starts at the par 70.

Perez has yet to win on the PGA TOUR, but he won three times on the DP World TOUR before joining the PGA TOUR, so he knows how to get the job done on European soil. Included in these three victories is a win at the famous Old Course of St. Andrews for the 2019 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, which like the Renaissance Club, is a links course located in Scotland. Perez has produced six top-25 finishes this season and at these +1600 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook, he is the best bet to win the Genesis Scottish Open among the four current co-leaders.
