The PGA TOUR and DP World TOUR will be hosting the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club (par 70, 7,237 yards, fescue greens) in North Berwick, Scotland. With this event co-sanctioned between the two tours, half of the field is players from the PGA TOUR and half of the field is players from the DP World TOUR. This is a field of 156 golfers and there will be a top-65 and ties cut following the first two rounds.
Below, I have featured some finishing position bets to consider for the Genesis Scottish Open.
Sam Burns for a top-20 finish including ties (+160)
Sam Burns has finished inside the top-20 in two of his three starts at the Renaissance Club and the five-time PGA TOUR winner is a terrific bet for a top-20 finish this week at these +160 odds. After a rough patch in the spring, Burns has been one of the best players on the PGA TOUR recently. The 28-year-old has made nine cuts in a row and seven of these finishes have come inside the top-20, including a runner-up at the RBC Canadian Open and a T-7 at the U.S. Open, both of which came in June.
Despite competing at some challenging courses, including three major championship venues, Burns has shot under par in 24 of his 36 rounds during this current cut streak. The LSU product has gained strokes on approach and with his putter at four straight tournaments, and Burns ranks fifth in total strokes gained when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds.
Also, Burns ranks first in 450-500-yard par four efficiency during this time, making him a match made in heaven for the Renaissance Club. Five of the 10 par fours at this par 70 fall in this range and for two years running, the winner of the Genesis Scottish Open has finished the event top-five in efficiency on the 450-500-yard par fours of the Renaissance Club.
Harry Hall for a top-30 finish (+140)
Harry Hall posted an underwhelming T-60 in his first attempt at the Renaissance Club two years ago, but it’s safe to expect a far better result from him this week. Hall is playing the best golf of his career right now and he sits 51 spots higher in the world golf rankings than when he first competed at the Renaissance Club in 2023.
Hall has finished inside the top-30 in 11 of his 19 starts this season and he hasn’t finished worse than T-24 at six consecutive tournaments. Hall ranks third in total strokes gained when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds and he ranks second in par four performance this season, trailing only world No.1 Scottie Scheffler. Being an elite par four scorer is essential for success at the Renaissance Club, as each of the last five winners at this par 70 have finished the week top-eight in par four efficiency.
Additionally, Hall ranks 16th in SG ARG this season, which is another great sign for the Renaissance Club. Of the last five winners at this venue, three have finished the event top-15 in SG ARG. Hall’s sensational season should continue in Scotland this week and at these +140 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook, he is an elite bet for a top-30 finish.
