The National League is stacked with MVP candidates from Pete Crow-Armstrong, Kyle Tucker and James Wood. All three are having excellent seasons, but they suffer playing in the same league as Shohei Ohtani.
His dominance has become so normal that the MVP is seemingly his to lose each season. That’s once again reality in 2025 despite barely pitching in the first half of the season.
Ohtani is slashing .286/.384/.631 with a 1.015 OPS, 30 home runs, 56 RBIs and a MLB-leading 84 runs. He’ll face off against the lowly White Sox tonight after winning the first two games of the series.
The Dodgers are -295 favorites on the moneyline, and the game total is set at over/under nine runs on DraftKings Sportsbook. The White Sox are +233 underdogs.

Because the Dodgers are such big favorites and Ohtani is having yet another stellar season, Ohtani’s lines aren’t the most attractive.
Ohtani’s home run prop is +120 for one home run, an incredibly low mark even for him. His RBIs and hits props similarly don’t have great odds. That’s why I’m taking a different avenue.
The three-time MVP and current front-runner leads the majors with 84 runs. While he has scored 30 times due to his own home runs, Ohtani also benefits from leading off in an elite offense. Ohtani possesses great speed, allowing Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Will Smith to knock him in.
Unlike other Ohtani props, 2+ runs will require him getting on base at least two times. That shouldn’t be an issue and is worth the risk for +230 odds.
