Kyle Freeland More Than 3.5 Earned Runs Allowed
Kyle Freeland, like most of his teammates, has had a rough season in Colorado. Coming into this game, he sports a 5.56 ERA, on pace to be the second-worst ERA of his career. Things have been even more dire for Freeland inside the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field. In seven home starts this season, he has a 7.11 ERA. The Astros have also been great against left-handed pitching this season. They rank fourth among all teams in OPS against left-handed pitchers. Freeland just gave up six earned runs in his most recent start, and his confidence will be low facing this tough Houston lineup. The Astros should be able to rack up at least four runs on Freeland before forcing him out of the game.
Riley Greene More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Riley Greene is one of the hottest hitters in baseball. He has a 150 OPS+ this season and is on pace for the best year of his career. Greene has been particularly good against right-handed pitching, with a 122 tOPS+ against righties this season. Additionally, Greene has been a better hitter away from Detroit in 2025. He has a 1.009 OPS in road games, compared to a .795 OPS at home. His hot streak over the past month has been nothing short of sensational. Over the last 30 days, he is batting .354 with a 1.075 OPS. He has four home runs in his past four games and should have another big game tonight. He is 2-for-4 in his career against Jake Irvin and should be able to pick up an extra-base hit tonight.
Juan Soto More Than 0.5 Runs
Juan Soto was just named National League Player of the Month for his excellent June. Statistically, it was the second-best month of Soto’s career. Over the past 30 days, his 1.132 OPS is the best of any qualified hitter in baseball. The Mets are looking to break out of their losing skid, and Soto’s bat could be what carries them out of it. Soto has been the Mets’ best player when it comes to getting runs on the board. He has 62 runs scored this season, the fifth-most in all of baseball. He ranks fourth in the MLB in on-base percentage, and his teammates have done a great job of driving him in once he is on base. It is not a coincidence that Soto has been so phenomenal getting on base, and the fact that Pete Alonso, who bats just after Soto in the Mets’ lineup, ranks sixth in the MLB in runs scored. Soto should be able to generate another run for the Mets in this game against Jose Quintana.
David Peterson More Than 4.5 Strikeouts Thrown
David Peterson was having a great season for the Mets before giving up five earned runs in each of his past two starts. Over his first 14 starts, he had a 2.60 ERA and was one of the only pitchers in baseball with a complete game shutout this season. However, he has now given up five earned runs in less than five innings in each of his past two starts, against the Phillies and Pirates. The good news is that both of those starts came on the road, adding to a growing trend that Peterson is not the same pitcher away from home. While that is unsustainable long term, for tonight’s game, it means the old David Peterson could be back for the Mets. At Citi Field this season, Peterson is 4-0 with a 2.22 ERA. In 199 opponent plate appearances at home this season, Peterson has only given up one home run. He should have his best stuff against Milwaukee and strike out at least five batters. He has hit this figure in each of his past four home starts and should keep it going tonight.
Geraldo Perdomo More Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Geraldo Perdomo is having another good season in the exciting Diamondbacks lineup. He has a 120 OPS+ this season and is only getting hotter over the past couple of weeks. In the last 14 days, he is batting .327 with an .885 OPS. He has also been fantastic against left-handed pitching this season. Perdomo has a 129 tOPS+ against left-handed starters and a .337 batting average against left-handed pitching in general this season. Perdomo has nine hits across his past five games and should be able to keep that hot streak going against a left-handed starter, Robbie Ray. He has also scored six runs in his past seven games. With those numbers and a favorable pitching matchup, Perdomo should get over this number in tonight’s game against the Giants.
Will Smith More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Will Smith has been having a great season for the Dodgers. He has always been a solid bat for the Dodgers, good for around 20 home runs and 75 RBIs a season. However, his discipline at the plate has jumped to a new level, and he is now one of the hardest hitters in baseball to get out. Smith leads the National League with a .324 batting average and trails only Aaron Judge in all of baseball with a .425 on-base percentage. Not only is Smith having an amazing season, but he has also been great against Aaron Civale in the past. In two career at-bats against Civale, Smith has hit two home runs. He should keep up his incredible season by recording an extra-base hit against the White Sox.
