Ironheart delivered in the first three episodes, and the Marvel show’s second round is shaping up to be even better. We’ll get into why that is, but let’s first make sure we’re ready for episodes 4-6.
Timing Notes
Like previous Marvel shows, episodes of Ironheart hit Disney+ on Tuesday evenings at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. Unlike recent shows, Ironheart is releasing all of its six episodes over the course of two drops.
The first set arrived on Disney+ on June 24. The second and final set will release on Tuesday, July 1 at 9 p.m.
After estimating that episodes would be around 40 minutes apiece, the opener clocked in at 43:06. But then, episode 2 crept up to 49:56 and No. 3 extended to 55:27.
We’ve seen some significant gaps in episode lengths across Marvel shows, so the +12-minute difference between episodes 1 and 3 of Ironheart isn’t unprecedented. That does make it harder to estimate the lengths of episodes 4-6. Still, it’s hard to imagine any of these upcoming episodes will be shorter than 40 minutes.
Cast Notes
(Warning: Spoilers for episodes 1-3 of Ironheart ahead.)
- We’ve seen an overconfident genius put themselves in a tight spot before, but Riri’s situation has been particularly anxiety-inducing. Not only did she off The Hood’s closest confidant, but her buddy Zeke Stane is not gonna appreciate the heat that’s about to come down on him. And then there’s Riri’s fritzy AI that forces her to relive the most traumatic experience of her life every time they interact. Again, anxiety inducing!
- The Hood is about to be unleashed. The show’s done a great job of giving us just enough of him and planting seeds for how wild episodes 4-6 could become.
- Two most promising elements of episodes 4-6 that have been set up: Magic vs. Tech — always an interesting battle — and finding out who gave Parker Robbins The Hood.
