Baltimore Orioles vs. Texas Rangers prediction, pick for Wednesday 6/25/25

Texas and Baltimore wrap up this series tonight at Camden Yards with the kind of stakes that feel heavier than their records. The Rangers sit just under .500 but come in with serious momentum after last night’s extra-innings thriller, where their bats woke up just in time to split the first two games. Baltimore is scrapping to stay afloat at the bottom of the AL East, their season defined by injuries and inconsistencies that have shown up in every facet of their game. The Orioles took the opener in a 6-0 shutout, then promptly gave it back in a 6-5 collapse less than 24 hours later. Both clubs are dealing with depleted rosters and shaky bullpens, so tonight’s finale is all about which side can lean into its strengths and flip the narrative as they fight to keep their seasons on track. Below, I’ve got my preview, prediction, and best bet for this Wednesday night baseball game between the Orioles and the Rangers.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Orioles vs. Rangers prediction, preview

Camden Yards tonight with Jacob deGrom back to elite form. It feels unfair to pit him against a Baltimore lineup that strikes out 24.7% of the time against righties and posts a meager 93 wRC+ over the past two weeks. deGrom’s 2.24 ERA and 0.92 WHIP speak for themselves. Even more telling, his 2.73 xFIP and 31% strikeout rate say the dominance is sustainable. Baltimore is missing Adley Rutschman and Ryan Mountcastle tonight. That’s the heart of this order, and it’s been gutted.

And then there’s Brandon Young. It’s brutal timing for him to make his third career start. Young’s sporting a 6.23 ERA and an ugly 2.19 WHIP across 8.2 innings. That control is not just bad — it’s disastrous. He’s walking 19% of batters so far, and the Rangers may rank 26th in runs per game, but they punish mistakes. Marcus Semien, Adolis Garcia, and Corey Seager all have hard-hit rates north of 50% this month. Even better, Texas as a team owns a 108 wRC+ against right-handed pitching since mid-June and sits eighth in baseball with a .333 OBP in the split. This offense is locked and loaded.

Don’t buy the great canyon of Camden Yards will give Young a boost. The park plays mostly neutral since the left field wall was moved back, but tonight’s temperature at first pitch will hit the mid-90s with a slight breeze blowing out to left-center. That’s a perfect setup for right-handed power like Garcia and Semien. Plus, Baltimore’s bullpen is gasping for relief. They rank 23rd in ERA at 4.48 and 24th in WHIP at 1.39. Felix Bautista might not even be available after working Tuesday, and the Orioles’ middle-relief crew is ripe for exploitation.

Rangers vs. Orioles pick, best bet

This Rangers club is also 7-3 in their last ten road games and 15-7 in deGrom’s starts. Baltimore is just 17-24 at home and 10-30 when allowing four or more runs. Even if they jump to an early lead — and they rarely do with Young — they simply cannot close. The underdog hype around Baltimore is stale and ignores that this is a lopsided matchup. The sharps have already steamed this moneyline up from -165 to -175 and pushed the total to 9.o. They see the same edge I do.

And let’s put to rest the idea that the Orioles keep this close. DeGrom is mowing down hitters, averaging 6.9 innings per outing across his last six starts with an absurd 34% CSW rate. Baltimore is fanning at 8.8 strikeouts per game and ranks bottom six in hard-hit rate versus elite arms. Even if Young miraculously strings together four innings, the Baltimore pen can’t hold up. Texas is 8-3 to the over on the road, and I see their right-handed bats launching all night.

Texas -1.5 is the play. You’re getting a Cy Young-caliber arm versus a call-up with a 19% walk rate, in oppressive heat that will turn fly balls into missiles. The Rangers have every reason to jump on Young early and let deGrom control the tempo.

Best bet: Rangers -1.5 (+105) at Orioles
