Tonight is the 2025 NBA Draft, and the rumor mill is buzzing. Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper are expected to be the first two players taken on Wednesday evening, but after that, it is a bit of a mystery. One of the most intriguing players is Ace Bailey.
DraftKings Sportsbook is offering several enticing NBA Draft props ahead of Wednesday night. Let’s take a closer look at the best prop that bettors should target for Ace Bailey.
2025 NBA Draft Props: Ace Bailey
Ace Bailey drafted at pick No. 5 (+300)
The top two picks in the draft are virtually set in stone, with Cooper Flagg expected to go first, followed by Dylan Harper. At one time, it was thought that Ace Bailey would follow immediately after his Rutgers teammate at the third pick. However, it has been a strange draft process for Bailey. Reports indicate that he has poor management and its given him some bad advice on how to handle this process. He refused to work out for specific teams and even canceled a workout. There could be multiple reasons for this. Bailey might have had behind-the-scenes conversations with a certain team that they will be taking him. Bailey might also just not be concerned about how high in the draft he goes, thinking better spots could be waiting for him if he does just drop a bit.
That being said, I am putting in a bet on Bailey to go fifth in the draft at +300. While anything could happen after the second pick, more and more reports are indicating that VJ Edgecombe is the guy for the 76ers at No. 3 and Kon Knueppel is the perfect fit for Charlotte at No. 4. Due to the uncertainty around Bailey’s attitude, those two teams are happy to take these players that they deem a great fit for their team makeup. The Jazz have the fifth pick in the Draft, and Ace Bailey is a classic Danny Ainge pick. Ainge always puts a lot of value on a player’s pedigree coming out of high school, rather than their actual production in college. That is what led him to take Jaylen Brown third-overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, much higher than many thought he would.
Ainge would love to buy into the potential of Bailey, hoping to address any attitude issues in Utah. If Ainge doesn’t want to get into the Ace Bailey business, or if he simply thinks there is better value down the board, this would also be a prime spot to trade down. That is why I am betting on Bailey to go fifth — not to go to Utah specifically. This could be the perfect spot for a team like Brooklyn at No. 8 to move up a few spots and take a player who could be their new offensive star. At this point, it seems like Bailey won’t go in the top-four draft picks, but there is value on him at +300 to go No. 5 overall.
