Twenty days of relentless adjustments and buzzer-beating drama have set the stage for one final, do-or-die showdown between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers. Both teams refused to relent, trading haymaker runs and signature moments that defined this electrifying Finals. Now, Game 7 looms as the ultimate laboratory for legends, where every possession demands championship poise. Brace for a molten clash where the slightest edge separates triumph from historic heartbreak. Shai, or Hali? Below, I’ve got my preview, prediction, and best bet for this NBA Finals Game 7 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Thunder vs. Pacers prediction, preview

The Thunder dominate on two fronts: efficiency and disruption. They boast a 114.2 offensive rating and a stingy 104.1 defensive rating this series. Their 56.8% eFG% sits atop the Finals, while they force turnovers on 17.8% of opponent possessions. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander owns a series-leading 122.0 offensive rating, coupling 30.0 PPG with a 31.2% usage rate and a sterling 2.4 turnover ratio. Jalen Williams has powered OKC’s transition game, logging 23.7 PPG on 38.2% from deep and ranking fourth with 27.4% offensive rebound rate.

Indiana thrives on playmaking and free throws. Tyrese Haliburton orchestrates at a 129.1 offensive rating, dishing 9.1 APG while maintaining a 67.4 true-shooting percentage despite a nagging calf strain. Pascal Siakam delivers 18.7 PPG and 7.5 RPG on a 54.2% eFG%, anchoring interior defense with a 3.1 block rate. Myles Turner leads all players with a 6.3% block rate but lags with a 21.4% offensive rebound clip.

Critics will cite Haliburton’s limited mobility and Indiana’s thin bench under physical pressure. They argue the Pacers’ 24.1% opponent offensive rebound rate will yield second-chance points. Yet OKC’s defense ranks third in opponent three-point rate, neutralizing perimeter pumps and forcing contested mid-range shots. Indiana has covered as underdogs ten times this postseason, but they’ve failed to deny double-digit home spreads. This series under has cashed four times, yet Game 7s tend to slow to defensive slugfest.

X-factors

Watch for Chet Holmgren to dominate the glass. Since Isaiah Hartenstein’s insertion, he hauled in 26 rebounds over two games, averaging 13 per contest. This lift positions him for 10+ boards in Game 7. Alex Caruso thrives under high stakes, logging a +40 plus-minus and forcing 23 turnovers in these Finals.

On Indiana’s side, T.J. McConnell remains the series’ ultimate spark plug. He posted 12 points, nine boards, six assists, and four steals in Game 6. He joined an exclusive club of bench players with 60+ points, 25+ assists, and 15+ rebounds in a Finals series. Myles Turner can tilt this contest with his 6.3% block rate and 7.8 RPG. He ranks 21st in offensive rebound rate, generating second-chance looks at critical moments.

Pacers vs. Thunder pick, best bet

Betting trends tip the scales toward Oklahoma City. The Thunder opened as 8.5-point favorites and have held steady as 7.0-point chalk, with 31% of DraftKings Sportsbook bets backing OKC to cover. Home teams are 15-4 in Finals Game 7s and have averaged a 6.9-point margin in those contests. Pacers sharp money swayed early lines, but nothing shakes OKC’s home-court fortress extended across a 10-2 playoff record with a +20.6 point differential.

The shift to Thunder −7 only sharpens this edge. Oklahoma City’s +20.6-point home margin dwarfs a seven-point spread. And the Pacers’ road resilience collapses under physical duress; Indiana ranks just 12th in opponent offensive rebounding. This lineup overwhelms Indiana’s thin rotations and clinches the title on its home floor.

Shai emerges in pressure cookers, averaging 29.4 PPG and 6.8 APG in elimination games. OKC’s defense masks Indiana’s free-throw aggression and playmaking brilliance by forcing contested jumpers and dominating the glass. Jalen’s all-around impact and Chet Holmgren’s rim protection guarantee extra possessions.

This is destiny’s crucible. Wednesday night will etch either a mythic underdog chronicle or cement Oklahoma City’s claim as basketball’s new powerhouse. Bet the Thunder to seize their first title and crown MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as king of the court.

Best bet: Thunder -7 (-110) vs. Pacers
