There are three WNBA games across tonight’s Friday night slate.
Starting at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Washington Mystics will face off against the Atlanta Dream for the third time this season. At the same time, the Dallas Wings and Connecticut Sun will face off for the second time this season. Then, at 10 p.m. ET, the Seattle Storm and Las Vegas Aces will meet for the third time this year, with these teams having split the first two matchups.
With some high-profile matchups on the table, here are my favorite WNBA prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Allisha Gray to Record 26+ Combined Points, Rebounds & Assists (-125)
It has been a strong start to the season for Allisha Gray. The two-time All-Star is averaging a career-high 20.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists so far this season. The 30.3 combined average of points, rebounds and assists is a strong baseline here. She has especially stood out when facing the Mystics. Gray dropped 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the first matchup between these two teams. On Sunday, she finished with 32 points, five rebounds and four assists while logging just 29 minutes in the blowout victory.
Expect more of the same tonight and for Gray to play in attack mode against the familiar opponent. The former Rookie of the Year has attempted at least 11 field goals in 11 of the 12 games this year, pulled in four or more rebounds in 11 of the 12 games, and recorded three or more assists in 10 of the 12 games. Gray has tallied 26+ combined points, rebounds and assists in eight of the 12 games.
Washington allows 79.6 points per game to opponents and ranks eighth in the league in defensive rating. Count on Gray making an impact across the board in this matchup, in which she has already had success. Her scoring takes the spotlight, and I lean the over on her scoring prop of 17.5 in general. But Atlanta has needed her to fill the stat sheet across the board, and I am backing her to record 26+ combined points, rebounds and assists tonight for the third straight time against the Mystics and ninth time this season.
Paige Bueckers to Record 18+ Points (-120)
Paige Bueckers has not had an ideal start to her WNBA career. The Dallas Wings hold a 2-11 record, and their star has already been injured with a concussion. This will be her fourth game since returning and is a favorable matchup against the Connecticut Sun.
The Sun are just 2-10 on the season and enter tonight’s game on a four-game losing streak. They rank dead last in defensive rating and give up a league-worst 87.2 points per game. Connecticut also ranks last in opponents’ field-goal percentage allowed, and opponents have shot the third-best three-point percentage when facing them.
Bueckers is averaging 17.7 points, 5.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game in nine games. The UConn product has struggled a bit as a shooter, connecting on just 34.5% of her three-point attempts, but expect Connecticut’s defense to be the cure for this. Even with the injury and shooting struggles, Bueckers has tallied 18+ points in four of her nine games played. Dallas will be a bit shorthanded, so Bueckers should get more offensive opportunities. Count on her to begin finding her footing as a professional and tally 18+ points again tonight.
Nneka Ogwumike to Record Over 8.5 Rebounds (+120)
The Las Vegas Aces have struggled on the boards this season. They rank 11th in rebounds per game, allow the second-most rebounds per contest, and own a 47.3% rebound rate — which is only better than the Sun. A’ja Wilson has been upgraded to questionable for tonight’s game after missing the past three games with a concussion. If the three-time MVP can return to the floor, it would help their rebounding outlook. However, Wilson has played eight games already this season, and the rebounding troubles have still been evident.
Enter Nneka Ogwumike, who is leading the Seattle Storm with 8.2 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-2 forward has pulled in as many as 18 rebounds in a game this season but has been held to exactly eight in both matchups with the Aces thus far.
Expect Ogwumike to play in attack mode tonight. She is creative in finishing around the rim and will take advantage of Las Vegas’ weak interior defense. The Aces allow 38.2 points per game in the paint, the second-worst rate in the WNBA. Ogwumike should have success generating additional possessions and put-backs on the offensive glass while still anchoring the defensive side of the ball.
She hasn’t had the most success rebounding against the Aces, but this should change in the third matchup of the season. With or without Wilson on the floor, I like Ogwumike to grab over 8.5 rebounds tonight.
