Assuming the Panthers win the Stanley Cup, Sam Bennett looks like a near-lock to win the Conn-Smythe Trophy. With a playoff-best 14 goals in 20 games (with 20 points overall), the upcoming free agent has made himself a bag over this postseason run. Bennett scored first in Game 2 and has netted four goals in three games this series. Since he’s on a scorching hot streak, it only makes sense to take Bennett again as the most consistent shooter in the series right now.
Oilers pick: Leon Draisaitl (+900)
Leon Draisaitl gets most of the hype for the Oilers as he leads the team with 10 goals this postseason. Possibly the craftiest finisher in the entire NHL, the German finds ways to create points from thin air and remains a threat to score from anywhere between the blue line and right in front of the net. He’s consistent, he’s skillful, and he’s taking over three shots per game. Draisaitl opened the scoring in Game 1 and it certainly wouldn’t be shocking to see him do it again in Game 4.
Sleeper pick: Matthew Tkachuk (+1600)
Listing a star such as Matthew Tkachuk as a sleeper pick feels quite wrong, but he’s been far too quiet over these playoffs. He’s got 20 points, tied for the third-most among all Panthers, but the 27-year-old winger has felt invisible for stretches on the ice. His last goal came four games ago to close out the Eastern Conference Final, so it’s merely a matter of time until Tkachuk gets going again. With longer odds than these other two, he’s also worth a look as a realistic option.
