Two high-profile teams face off in Las Vegas tonight as the Aces host the Sparks. It’s one of three games on Wednesday’s WNBA slate.
Both teams have been fairly disappointing after engaging in a monumental three-team trade that sent Kelsey Plum to the Sparks and Jewell Loyd to the Aces.
One constant in the early portion of the season is A’ja Wilson’s play. She remains one of the best basketball players in the WNBA and gives the Aces a fighting chance any time she steps on the court.
The Aces are nine-point favorites, and the game total is set at 168 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.

While tonight’s Sparks vs. Aces matchup features some of the best talent the WNBA has to offer, it’s not expected to be a close game. Las Vegas is favored by nine points and won the previous meeting by 15 points on May 30.
The Aces are a much better team despite early-season struggles from Loyd. Wilson is having another MVP-caliber season, averaging 22 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.4 blocks and 2.0 steals per game. She scored 35 points against the Sparks on May 30.
More of the same should occur tonight. The Sparks aren’t great defensively, especially with Cameron Brink still recovering from injury. Even then, there aren’t many players can slow Wilson down, let alone stop her.
Los Angeles ranks 10th in defensive rating, while Las Vegas is ninth. There should be a lot of offense as a result, giving Wilson more opportunities to score.
