At UFC 313, Magomed Ankalaev defeated Alex Pereira to become the UFC Undisputed Light Heavyweight Champion. Ankalaev ended Pereira’s four-fight knockout streak while having a 14-fight unbeaten streak.
This fight was a close decision, with two judges scoring the contest 48-47 in favor of Ankalaev. Ankalaev outlanded Pereira 94-78 in significant strikes while totalting 5:42 of control time. Since Pereira successfully defended his title three times while being one of the sport’s biggest stars, a rematch is expected to occur before the end of 2025.
Although the rematch has yet to be finalized and scheduled, DraftKings Sportsbook already has odds listed for it. Ankalaev is a -180 favorite, while the former 205-pound king is a +150 underdog.
Pereira is 9-2 in the UFC and hasn’t suffered two straight defeats in his career. Pereira is one of the most active fighters in the sport and has fought six times in the last 23 months. With the UFC already having a Main Event for PPVs in July and August, UFC 320 on October 4 is the first open PPV.
