The market for Top Goalscorer at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is live on DraftKings Sportsbook, and it’s star-studded.
Some of the world’s best-attacking players will be on display throughout the United States this summer, including Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi, Harry Kane and Vinicius Junior. It should be a close race for the Golden Boot, but I have my eyes on a certain player as the best bet for this market.
Below is my best bet for the top goalscorer at the tournament.
Erling Haaland (+600)
Erling Haaland is a goals machine. He is coming off a down season for his standards, but he still managed to rack up 31 goals in all competitions. Those are career-high numbers for most strikers, but not for him.
Haaland had 38 goals in 2023/24, and his best season was 2022/23, recording a mind-boggling 52 goals. When healthy, all he does is score. Haaland is the focal point for Man City, and when the team creates chances, they usually fall to the 6’4″ target man wearing the #9 shirt.
I expect Man City to go very far in this tournament, and with that should come goals from Haaland. Despite missing seven of their 38 Premier League games last season, the Norweigan scored over 30% of the team’s goals.
If Man City plays well collectively, the goals will come. I’m surprised that he’s not the favorite to be the top goalscorer, given his prolific scoring history.
