UPDATE: The Chicago Cubs announced Kyle Tucker left the game due to a jammed finger.

Kyle Tucker was removed from the Cubs’ matchup with the Reds in the fifth inning. He was replaced by Vidal Bruján, who took over at right field.

While there was no initial injury announcement for the Cubs’ star, the issue seemed to stem from an awkward slide into second base when attempting to steal the base. Chicago held a 4-0 lead in the game when Tucker was removed with one hit and one run scored.

The Cubs took a big swing trading for Tucker this past offseason after he spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Houston Astros. His addition has paid dividends for this Cubs team. So far this season, Tucker is slashing .283/.391/.520 with 12 home runs and 39 RBIs.

The Cubs are off to a 36-22 start to the season and hold the lead in the NL Central.
