It is a full day of MLB action with all 30 teams facing off across the Sunday slate. The first game will begin at 1:05 ET between the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers. Games will continue regularly throughout the day, building toward the star-studded Sunday night baseball game between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers. This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for today’s action, 6/1/25. You simply choose whether each set statistic will be more or less than the set number. With the stage set, here are my favorite picks on the MLB slate.
Kyle Schwarber More Than 0.5 Runs Batted In
The Philadelphia Phillies are coming off their worst loss of the season after allowing 17 runs to the Milwaukee Brewers yesterday. Despite the loss, Kyle Schwarber tallied three hits across his four at-bats, recording one run and one RBI.
Schwarber is fourth in the MLB in home runs with 19 tallied on the season. He is slashing .267/.401/.590 with his OPS a career-high .991. Across the past two games against the Brewers, Schwarber is 5-for-8 with four doubles and a monstrous 1.750 OPS. Jose Quintana is on the mound for Milwaukee, who is in the midst of an excellent season and posting a 2.65 ERA overall. However, Schwarber has tallied seven hits, one home run and four RBIs across the 21 plate appearances they have squared off. The Phillies’ slugger has historically seen a spike in production during June and they will need him to continue delivering tonight.
Count on Schwarber to build off of his excellent start to the season and drive in a run for the fourth time in the past five games.
Rhys Hoskins More Than 0.5 Runs Batted In
On the other side of the matchup, Rhys Hoskins has enjoyed being back at Citizens Bank Park. The former Phillies standout hit a pair of home runs yesterday and drove in six total RBIs as part of the 17-run explosion. This was Hoskins’ first multi-home run game since joining the Brewers, and his second and third home runs launched in Philadelphia since leaving the team. Hoskins will look to add to this in the third game of the series with Ranger Suarez on the mound for the Phillies.
On the season overall, Hoskins is slashing .276/.374/.475 with nine home runs and 35 RBIs in 55 games. After missing all of 2023 and then having a down season last year, the 32-year-old looks back on track to being the offensive weapon he has grown into. Suarez is off to a strong start to the season with a 4-0 record and 2.97 ERA, but Hoskins has tallied a walk and a hit in the two at-bats they have faced off since they stopped being teammates. Count on Hoskins continuing to have success back in his former home park in the third game of the series tonight. He has tallied 16 RBIs across his past 15 games, so expect the former Phillie to continue adding to this total today.
Jackson Holliday More Than 0.5 Runs Batted In
While it has been a downright disastrous start to the season for the Baltimore Orioles, Jackson Holliday has started to turn things around individually. Five of his seven home runs on the season came in May, and his slash lines have grown to .270/.320/.439. His strikeout rate has dipped to 19%, and Holliday has been shifted into the leadoff spot, where he has hit with much more consistent contact.
The 21-year-old will be matching up with the Chicago White Sox today with Adrian Houser on the mound. The veteran has been excellent in his opening two starts this season and has yet to allow a run. However, Houser tallied a career-worst 5.84 ERA last season, and the sample size remains too small to be buying into his performance just yet. Holliday has tallied 13 RBIs across his past 14 games with his OPS just shy of .900. Look for the former No. 1 overall pick to continue producing and drive in a run again today.
Francisco Lindor More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Few players are seeing the ball as well as Francisco Lindor at the plate right now. After hitting two home runs in Friday night’s game, Lindor added another pair of hits yesterday. He is 5-for-7 with five runs scored in this series against the Rockies and will carry this into today’s matchup with rookie Carson Palmquist on the mound. The 24-year-old enters with an 0-3 record and an 8.78 ERA across just 13.1 innings pitched.
Lindor has 12 home runs already this season and 33 RBIs tallied. He is posting a 1.058 OPS when playing at home this season, with 10 of his 12 home runs occurring at Citi Field. Nine of these 12 home runs have also come against left-handed pitching this year. With an inexperienced and favorable matchup, count on the four-time All-Star to add to his strong start to the year. Lindor has a strong chance of putting another home run over the fence, but I am going a bit safer and backing him to record more than 1.5 total bases for the third straight game.
Eugenio Suarez More Than 0.5 Runs Batted In
Eugenio Suarez is quietly tied for the fifth-most home runs in the National League this season. The 33-year-old has 15 homers with 42 RBIs and is posting an .812 OPS on the season. His 90.9 MPH average exit velocity is the second-best of his career, and Suarez is producing the best hard-hit contact rate of his career.
Mitchell Parker will be on the mound for the Washington Nationals today, entering with a 4.65 ERA. He has given up at least three earned runs in six straight starts. Suarez has one hit in the three at-bats against Parker in their careers and enters this game having tallied a hit in seven of his past nine games. Adding to his home run total is a strong possibility, but I am being a bit safer backing Suarez to add to his 42 RBI total in this friendly matchup.
Aaron Judge More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Aaron Judge has cooled down slightly following his historic start to the season, but he still has a convincing case as the best hitter in baseball. He currently leads the MLB with a .398 batting average after producing a career-high .322 last season. Judge also leads all batters in hits, runs, total bases, slugging percentage, OPS and what feels like every other metric.
He has tallied 15 total bases already in this series, with multiple bases in five of his last eight games. Yoshinobu Yamamoto will be on the mound for the Dodgers tonight, entering with a 1.97 ERA. However, Los Angeles has a middle-of-the-pack bullpen, and the rate that Judge is producing makes him worth backing regardless of the matchup. It took him just three pitches to put one over the fence in the first game of the series, and he followed that up with two home runs yesterday. Count on the Yankees’ star to punish any opportunity he sees at the plate and tally more than 1.5 total bases for the third straight game in this star-studded matchup.
